GP2 vs Animal
« on: May 23, 2005, 09:35:23 AM »
Guys (Track gurus),
I'm getting my GP2 in this week and really want to make sure that my Animal has a different look and not be close to overlapping. The Animal has the PIN just under the fingers along the midline and my GPS will has the PIN above the finger in a leverage position (as recommended by Ex and Rick); what should I do to the coverstock of the Animal to keep my lineup solid with the GP2 being my oiler/sport shot ball, and my Animal being stronger than my Siver Streak particle(again, PIN in the grip)
 Hopefully, this wasn't TOO incoherent.
BTW ... rolled six games of practice today with the Animal,
+312 with one open (whiffed the 7).

Laybzz74,

I have both balls with the same layout on both of them (Pin Below the Ring Finger). Two totally different reactions! The Rule GP2 hooks and then some. The Animal is not all that aggressive as the GP2 but it has a smoother read through the heads but both have the same banging back end. The typical conditions I face, I would start out with the GP2 as the one for heavy oil and once the heads start to go moderate, I would switch to the Animal for a better read in the heads and smooth controlled hook on the back end. Both are great balls in my opinion! Then again, Track is nothing but the best! Hope this helps Laybzz74! Good luck and let us know how it comes out!

In general, by putting the pin above the fingers, that will add some length and backend to the ball as you are making the Morpheus Core taller. If drilled the same, with both out of box condition, my GP2 hooks a good 3-4 more boards than the Animal and has plenty of pop in the backend. For the Animal to be stronger than the SS P, I would suggest a a finish on the Animal where you just knock off the factory compound(2000 grit finish like Ex has on his Arsenal Aggressive) This will make the ball pick up a tad quicker, albeit, you will lose some backend though as you are adding a touch of surface to the Animal.

I have both with similar drills to SteveAustin (pin under bridge as my PAP is 4 3/8). My GP2 is Box and Animal is about 800 dull (worn out green pad with clean & dull). The GP2 reads the lane a little later and has a strong arc. The Animal reads earlier and has a controlled arc. The GP2 covers 2-4 more boards.
