Track Code Red Critical Mass Special Edition!
It's an even arcing resin ball with some mica flecks in the coverstock. Good hit. RG = 2.55, Differential = 0.030. Ceramic nugget in the core. Kind of like the Track version of a Pulse. I love my 15#. I like it so much I hardly ever use it (I don't want to wear it out). Mine is a pin-in ball drilled right over the label. I kept it at the factory grit but put on a light coat of polish. I know exactly where it's going to go when I throw it, and it carries well, even with the tame layout. It's a ball I know I can keep in the pocket when absolutely nothing else is working. The 16# on ebay looks like the pin is WAY out - 6 or 7 inches? I don't know if that's going to have a big effect, being that it's not a high-flaring ball, but it looks like it was layed out trying to give it length with a big backend. Problem is, that's not what the ball was intended to be. If you wanted to change the layout, you'd probably be tracking over a plug or two. These come up from time to time. If it was me, I'd wait for one that had a more normal layout. Then again, if you get it real cheap, you can afford to play with it and toss it if you don't like it.
Bowling This Month rated it as one of the best balls they'd ever seen back when it came out. I didn't throw it back then, but I concur now. Only downside - I've heard some rumors that the core and cover crack easy. I don't know this from experience, just second and third hand info. Mine looks good, but as I said, I don't throw it unless it's a real Code Red emergency, so it hasn't been abused.
