Track Green Machine "gift" initial impressions
« on: October 29, 2006, 01:27:57 AM »
Well, I was lucky enough to win this ball in the Track ball-a-day givaway. My Luck still continues.  Great ball!

The Green Machine, Actual ball layout

I had Rohn Morton @ Hollywood Bowl in Portland, Oregon drill the ball 5.0 (pin to pap) X 3.5 (cg) X 4.0 (mb/break control) x-hole on PAP; Pin-out 3.25" TW after drill aprox 1.5oz.  Originally, had practiced with this ball (user RDS-Track am staff-speed dominant drillings) with a sample ball that was 4.5X5X5.5 and didn't care for the reaction I was getting compared to the Mean Machine. My thought was to go with a little longer pin out and a little more roll, rather than the funky unwanted small amount of spin/flip that I was getting; as a safeguard that weight could be latter taken out if I didn't like the reaction.

The educated guess with layout experience from Rohn, hit it right on the nail head.  Great reaction on medium to slightly medium dry lanes (of course, must pick up speed, normal 16; 17-18mph).  The robo core just glides down the alley, and make a wonderful arcing action to the pocket in a typical particle pearl fashion (nice even arcing roll and set reaction, but not mild by any means = hard hitting); and then a very nice move to the pocket, hard hitting. The Machines do move, I've made a few adjustments in my physical and equipment game.  Went even shorter in the span, farther away with the middle finger, now at 1/2 reverse and picked up the speed a couple mph to accommodate this dynamic equipment. (still mildly rev dominant, looking to go for a rev speed match in the future, with the help of Track equipment)

I've put in about 3 games with this machine on a non-fresh (not burnt) high scoring 37 feet tapered condition, and about 2-3 with the sample ball with a similar condition.  One must say, there is something special with these Robo Core based balls.  Easy to use, and hopefully will be money in the bank, when I start bowling tournaments again.

Will give a complete review, after a few more practice session, league nights, and different conditions; oil transitions. Starting to really like Track!

Thanks, to Track and Track Staff for the gift!
