607A discontinued?
« on: March 24, 2012, 12:49:16 PM »
Heard from the grapevine that the 607A was discontinued? Anyone know if this is fact or not......

Instead of "A Future For The Sport", it really should be "A Sport Without A Future"

If not now it will be soon.  I tend to go by demand in my location and when distributor starts cutting them out.  There's hardly ever an officially announced discontinued date.  If you're looking for something similar and imo better.  Go with the 508A.  Modified version of the 607A core with a better cover.  Again imo.  I know I'm a staffer so this statement may freak people out but personally I wasn't a fan of the 607A. It was ok....but almost never was in my bag.

Thank you Dave, for being an honest staffer.  You don't see this very often, if ever.

I have 508A, 607A and 811A. Liked the 607A but was very condition sensitive. Tended to use when lanes started drying up. Do not care for 811a. Very unpredictable for me, but I have not tried surface adjustments yet. Now the the 508A I love. I have same layout as 607A and it is my first ball out of the bag. Use it on fresh THS at one center and second shift shot in another center and have no complaints with this ball. Seems to read mids a little better than my 607A and stronger but more predictable than my 607A. (508A layout is: 60 x 4 1/2 x 40)
