I know someone posted a thread along this line awhile back, but I wanted to start over----
I think Track still needs a medium/light oil ball. Even a 3pc. I think they have won alot of people over with the morpheous technology, and maybe that would influence people to stay with track----
SINCE MOST ALL 3PC BALLS (reactive) ARE THE SAME.
With that said, I would really like to see the Morpheous---any of the variations, but I prefer the Mutant's, put into a reactive coverstock on the weaker side. I know, strong core, weak cover...why? I think it would be an awesome wet/dry ball.
charlest had a good point. They do need a direct replacement for the Hex---and VooDoo. The Threat, Thrash, are both far too strong to really be a replacement for either of those. How about Threat or Thrash core in the Voo Doo coverstock-----I know, that is basically taking a step back because essentially that would just be remakes.
Track does have holes. We all know what they are. I do have to disagree with the statements that their line is not versatile though. The morpheous core is very versatile and controllable. On top of that the coverstocks they have on the balls is very easily adjusted.
I may be a bad person to go on, due to my ball speed, but right now I am all I have---the Freak covered alot of boards, but not like the Mutant. The FreakOut is more like a medium oil ball for me, and has GREAT controll of the breakpoint for a pearl ball. The SuperFreak offers hook, but from a totally different angle than the Mutant. I have had 2 Mutants, both drilled to hook up pretty early---despite what the Track numbers for the ball are, this ball gets great length. I would say maybe just 2-3ft sooner than the Freak.
All of the balls have tremendous hit, so I will not comment further on that.
Track, you are doing a good job. However, if you want a bowler to be able to throw nothing but TRACK EQUIPMENT, you still have some work to do.
