For people that have seen a SPELL in action...
« on: November 11, 2003, 08:28:51 AM »
Some guys say this ball doesn't hook much, but the one I got is a monster on the backend! It's drilled with the PIN beside and touching the ring finger and the CG stacked directly below and slightly to the left... but not quiet label leverage.

Is the this ball suppose to be this strong, or did I just get ahold of a GOOD one???

Geez, want another one?  We've only ordered one, and that was when they came out.  It's STILL sitting in the shop.

I was bowling one of the higher average scratch bowlers in league a month or so ago who bowls with average speed and maybe 5 revs from 1st arrow.  On one shot, he left a 9 pin.  Walking back, he frowned and said, "Nobody that throws a fag ball should leave that pin."

I used to have one, in fact, I may have sold it to you Ric. In any case, the ball is very good and does have quite a bit of backend. Plus, the ball retains energy well and carries well. I only got rid of it cause I wanted to update my arsenal. I wound up replacing it with a Thrash, which I no longer have either!

It hooks! One of my bowling partners throws this ball. It is like most Track balls they hook harder than they are rated at, but they hit very well.

I will say this... I threw this ball again tonight at league and I have never seen a ball hook like this!!!

I talked to John May (a regional pro that I know and he said that this ball is a "sleeper"). He said that this ball was not suppose to be as good as it is!

I beleive it... this ball flat out HOOKS!!!

And what's odd is that I've seen some these Spell's go on EBAY.com, and I mean Brand New In The Box too, for as low as 32.00 + shipping. So I will be getting some more of these!!!

A strong bowler friend of mine has one.

He says I don't like the reaction.
It is just like the V2 sanded for me, not much of a reaction.

However, just like the V2 sanded I averaged much better than I expected with it.
240 in a summer league.

He said I'm still not thrilled with it!  BUt I'm getting another one!  I want to average 240 again!

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS because of Ric Clint's excitement and Can you Revs help I now have one.
It's sitting in an open box looking sort of, well not pretty, but it looks like it can sneak up and bowl!  I'll have punched and see!  I had it's clone the AMF Nighthawk SPT and did not love it but this is a coverstock tweak.  I also had Hawk (same core) and loved!!!!  Always wanted an earlier rolling Hawk!  Is this it??? I also had a friend had a few 300s with his, and stopped using it.
Switched to the much more exciting Phenom, average down about13 pins!

But he looks better!

A guy on my team has one and it is not weak. It will cover some boards.
