Track arsenal help from the current line up
« on: July 31, 2006, 05:27:07 AM »
Hi All,

I currently use the Freak-A-Zoid as my benchmark ball surrounded by the Phenom Unleashed and the Rule on the oily side and the Desert Heat on the light side.

What balls in the current line up would fit between the FAZ and the Rule. I'm thinking the Machine here.

What ball in the current line up would fit in between the FAZ and the Desert Heat. I'm thinking either the Heat Blast or the Equation in this spot.

Your comments and suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,
DW

I'm thinking your thinking is correct. A Machine would be a great ball between the Phenom and Rule as would the Arsenal Artillery. And between the FAZ and Desert Heat the Heat Blast would fit, as would the Solution Power Plus EX.

The Heat Blast would fit well between the FAZ and the DH.  The equation would actually work better between the Faz and the Rule. and probably be about the same as the machine, however it would be more even roll where the machine would be more skid snap, so between them it would depend on which one you would want  Personally I would choose as follows:

Rule
Equation
FAZ
Heat Blast
Desert Heat

Hope this helps

Arsenal includes:
Rule GP2, Rule Delta 1, Slash, Heat Blast, Heat,  Desert Heat, Boxing Glove

The Machine is about the same as the Rule for me as far as oil handling capabilities but it is stronger in all parts of the lane so I can't see it falling in between the FAZ and Rule. Maybe if the Rule is drilled really strong/early and you put a weak/length drilling on the Machine.
I would have to agree with you on the Blast or Equation. The Blast for a smoother look and the Equation for more of a skid/flip look.

Thanks guys. Keep the comments comming.

Re-Ev, I was thinking the Machine between the Rule and the FAZ because it is semi-polished and the Rule is dull. I know they would be close and that would be fine. I'm looking for something strong that won't check up in the heads like my Rule does sometime.

Thanks again,

dw,

You nailed it with the Machine bud. If you are keeping your Rule at a duller surface the Machine will clear the heads easier.

You can go with either the Blast or the Equation between the Freakazoid  and Desert Heat......you have to becareful though, because the Equation is pretty close to Freakazoid and if the backends are moving the Equation will cover far more boards. The Blast is a bit more even than the Equation.

Thanks Carl,

Tommorow I'm going to drill a Heat Blast for more control in the back and a Machine to cover the other opening.

Thanks again everyone for your comments.

Let us know what you think...if you end up going with the Machine and Blast like you say, I think you made 2 excellent choices!

Thanks Clint,

I will post my findings next week after I bowl a couple of tournaments and league.

I'm really tempted by the Equation. I love that core in a pearl cover. It reminds me another of my favorite all time Track balls (The Ocean Blue Triton Pearl). I'm thinking if I get the Equation instead of the Heat Blast I would have to play a little deeper but may have more room for error.

What do you guys think?

Thanks,
DW

It's an interesting question as I haven't seen the Equation as of yet. I do know the Heat Blast is a smooth, consistent, benchmark type of bowling ball and it's always nice to have one of those in your bag. I think the Equation is going to be more aggressive. That works if you play deeper so it's your choice. The Heat Blast is a little cheaper however if that makes a difference.

Hey dw, (How's it going bud?)

I agree wholeheartedly with EX, the Machine fits well in between the FAZ and Rule(OOB) while the Blast and Equation are a little less than the FAZ.  I'd say however my FAZ was earlier compared to my Equation (great length and strong backend) which is quickly turning into one of favorite balls.  Took it out to a local tourney fist time and almost took the high game on the board...ring 10 in the 11th stopped me.  Keep us posted or let us know if we can be of any more help to you...

Great thread a while back buddy (about dry midlane), it brought a lot of discussion and information which is what this is forum is all about.

Thanks Rick,
I will have the Machine this weekend but I'm going to hold off another week or so before I decide on the Equation or Heat Blast. My first mind is saying the Heat Blast would be the best ball because of the solid cover and the control it will offer. My heart says the Equation could bring some high scores late in a tournament when there's still a little to much oil for the Desert Heat.

Oh well, when a company puts out so much good stuff it's easy to get confused.
