Switch to Track from Storm
« on: August 25, 2005, 08:35:22 AM »
I've been a Storm guy for years.  Loved the Trauma ER but last year bought a Triple X-Factor Extreme and have not been happy with it.  Also have an original Inferno, good ball.  I'm looking for a versatile ball that will take to different lane conditions.  A lot of guys I bowl with are throwing Track equipment and I'm considering a switch from Storm.  I'm a stroker/tweener with ball speed of 17 MPH.  Preferred line is down and in anywhere from 5 to 15 board depending on the shot.  I've been looking at the GP2 and the Exception 5.0.  Any suggestions

Can't disagree with these guys...start with the Slash, put your faorite drilling on it, and then build your arsenal around it!

After that, if you want something to cover oil, the GP2 is the ball. Great midlane look and backend move!

For dry, the Desert Heat is the deal. Best dry lane ball from Track in a ong time, maybe ever.

I agree with everything said so far.  However, if you're a fan of the hockey stick ball reaction associated with Storm ,(longer skid, then snap on the backend), then the Xceptions are for you.  You could use the 5.0 as a benchmark, although it's a particle pearl, and build from there.  The Xception would be a step down, the Rule Delta 1 a step up, all should give a look similar to the Storm masterline series.

Hope this helps,

Bill

Agree with TraumaBill: I would start with one from the Xception line and then a benchmark ball like the Slash and go from there. The Xception 5.0 will give you a decent look on medium-heavy to medium conditions, the Xception would handle medium/medium-light and the Slash can help you read the lanes and cover the in betweens....
