Hexplosion Mini-Review
« on: August 19, 2004, 06:25:35 PM »
Ex and I tried something different on this one. We put the pin 6+1/2" from the PAP left of the middle finger, and the GC in the palm, and we took the surface down from box with a grey scotchbrite pad. This drilling gives me a smooth roll in the heads and the midlane, but a sharp angular breakpoint and good hit at the pins. I like the overall hook in this ball, I can see using this one alot in the upcoming league season as a benchmark ball. I was really surprised at how strong this ball is for the price.
Pro's - Length, Recovery, Carry
Con's - With the drilling rolls up a bit quick on the dry, might not roll soon enough for longer patterns.

Overall 4 out of 5.

I am very impressed with the Hexplosion so far. I have watched Sean throw it on a few different occasions, and each time the has caught my eye more and more.

I think it is a bit stronger than most would expect. I don't see it a hair above the Dry Heat as stated previously, I actually see this ball stronger than the Crash. This is ofcourse from my observations.....I will be throwing one soon, and ofcourse will post a mini.

Seeing this ball work for Sean, it is a pleasant suprise.

With this ball sharing its core with the Nighthawk Revenge of old, I knew this would be a true rolling ball when I first saw it. The solid particle cover on the Xplosion compared to the pearl Revenge cover will give you very close to the same reaction you may have had a few years back, but the difference being this ball will be able to handle the slicker conditions, especially if you rough up the surface a little out of the box!
