Title: How does the Assassin compare.........

Hey, time to jog your memory.  How would the older Track Assassin stack up against the current Track lineup, and which ball would it compare the most to?  Also, anyone still using one of these, and if so, what type of conditions best suit this ball?  How about on synthetics, 42 ft. med-med/hvy THS with some carrydown?

Just off the top of my head I'd say Blue Heat...  but let me check on stats.  It's going to be tough to match the coverstock though.  Too many advances in lane conditioner have needed to be made due to coverstock technology, so something close to the Assassin of then might be a bit of an odd match.

I have never thrown one, but a teammate felt that the coverstock on the Assassin wasn't a particle coverstock.  On what he felt was true heavy oil it didn't have a chance.

I would say the Sheer Havoc, although I don't know if you would consider that a part of the current lineup. It is newer than the Assassin though. I've thrown the Assassin (and loved it) but not the Sheer Havoc.
Anyway, it looks to be the same core, and the RG and differential numbers are virtually identical. I'm not an expert on Track equipment, but I thought the Sheer Havoc was a particle pearl while the Assassin was a light load particle.

The Assassin and Blue Heat have the same core....but the Blue Heat is much more aggressive in my opinion.

I really liked the Assassin when I had it. The closest reacting ball from Track is probably the SHeer Havoc.

funny u mention it ,but i am still using my assassin on med conditions polished at 4000 grit .i still love this ball i remember shooting 9 in a row with it when i first picked it up it is still a great ball and on the right condition it is pretty dangerous too. squirty in heavy stuff.
