Lx05 opinions
« on: April 26, 2015, 10:27:43 AM »
Now that it has been out for a while, what is everyone's opinion of the lxo5? I am considering getting it for a lower end benchmark ball to go between my primal rage and pitch black.

I got this ball to use on the dry lanes I have at my home lanes.  It's drilled with the pin about 5" from my pap and about an inch over the ring finger.  I have not changed the surface.  With my slower speed (13-14mph) it's much too strong for dry conditions.  I did have the opportunity to try it at another house and on fresh oil it worked very well.  Was able to stand on 20 and target 10 which is my favorite line.  The ball (on the fresh) has good length and a strong finish.  Not a flip but a hard turn.  On medium conditions I think this will be a great choice for slower to average speed bowlers.

By the way, I also have the Mx05 which is a lot better on the dry but is still pretty strong.  I'm looking into getting the Hx05 which I think might be a better choice on the dry.

Hope this helps.

The LX05 I have is drilled pin below bridge. This ball for me is not what I would consider a lower or dry lane ball. I find this ball very useful when on a fresh THS or when playing out on a cheetah or shorter oil pattern. The ball starts to roll early which helps with shorter patterns where you need to take out the sharpness of the backends. I have not touched the surface of mine. If I pull this ball out on the burn the ball reads early with nothing left. I tend to have to use this on fresh patterns. I find the HX05 drilled the same as the LX05 to get down the lane further but to have a lot more backend it's a lot more snappy.

I partially want this ball because it looks so sweet to be honest lol. So would this be a more medium oil bench mark ball then? Maybe replace my weaker drilled primal rage with it

I would say medium\low benchmark. The LX10 is pretty much got the medium covered. I think it could replace the Primal Rage (this is going off what I know of the LX05 and what I have seen of the Primal).
