I gave in
« on: September 10, 2008, 03:14:56 PM »
Yep, I'm the one who bought a boatload of Track balls from Texas when the buyout happened. Looks like I will be selling some of those now. I came away so impressed with watching guys throw the UPRising, that I have to have one, so I am punching one up.

I will post a review once I get back into the swing of things so to speak.

I have had an uprising for two weeks. Can't figure out how I want to drill it.

Plus, I have figured out how to play my Kinetic. It is all about speed. Kinetic is really underated. The Rising, on the other hand, sux.

well I don't have much to say yet, only got to roll it one game. i took it to 4000 before going out. I probably should have left it polished, because mine would burn up If I tried to swing it to far without putting alot of tilt in it. Then again I was getting like 5-6 inches of flare. It was pretty sick.

I will have to either polish it or use it for strictly heavier volumes. I did bowl a 232 though. If I kept it out of the dry, the carry was awesome.

Yes, the Dark Side...  LOL

"Never under-estimate the POWER of the Dark Side"  "Search your feelings Luke, you know this to be true".

From what I have seen, everyone is drilling the Up-Rising with the #1 drilling. I have seen a few guys all with different styles throw the ball with that layout. The ball is extremely smooth. It gets through the heads with ease and is very strong, yet smooth and continuous in it's roll through the deck. It's a no brainer for me to drill it that way.

I may also do a Tantrum if I can get a layout that will let me go super long with a reaction that will not hurt me.

Do you have a "Darkside" also? I heard that ball was discontinued, but the one guy that I've seen use it, throws it very well!

LOL....

The Dark Side reference was made because I was one of a few that freaked when Track was bought out. I bought a bunch of the Texas balls figuring that it would never be the same. The Dark Side was the Ebonite aquisition of Track and it's uncertainty. I recently crossed over when I drilled up an UP Rising and Tantrum

It is good to see that one with such power in the force has joined our side. However I feel he still needs more proof to have him completely in our grasp.

Out side of the Power Machines and ROBOs I have stashed, I will probably sell what I can new and used. The Up-Rising is a must have ball. Did the #1 layout. I also drilled a Tantrum 5 x 5 pin up about 1-3/8 over the ring with the MB right next to the thumb hole. I wanted a lot of length with a reaction that will be strong but not get me into trouble. I want to be able to play it straight down and in.

Uprising is a definite MUST HAVE BALL!!!!!drilled mine up a couple of weeks ago and the ball is on point!!!!i wanted the ball drilled with the #1 drilling but my ball's pin placement was out of place so my pro shop did a modified drilling(Jaybird's Pro Shop in newport, delaware at pleasant hill lanes with jay stephenson and john racine workers extraordinaire)and that ball is the true!!!!rolls thru the mids smooth as silk....then hits the break with a nice arc and BANG!!!!i absolutely love this ball and will look forward to smashing my highest average ever(196) this season.and my ball is courtesy of the great people from Track and in particular FIG and Vicki who hooked me up.
