I just bought what I swore not to..
« on: June 10, 2008, 12:27:04 PM »
A Track Rising. Yes, I did swear to myself to stay away from anything Ebonite made.. But, I just went on eBay, searched 14# bowling balls, and there it was. I found a Rising X-Blem brand new for 50$ shipped. Now what the heck do I expect to get out of a Rising X-Blem? What can be wrong with it? Did anyone ever buy one of these?

I've been dying to try a new Track ball because i'm hoping they'll show me not to be afraid of an Ebonite ball dying. This is my chance, I assume. I will be drilling it with the " 2" Vertical Axis Line Layout " shown on Track's website.

I'd love some input!

Just make sure you have a micro-fiber towel and a bottle of Energizer cleaner to maintain the performance of the ball.

Would look at the ball before deciding on layout. If it is a blem, it could have a 1/2 inch pin with 5 oz top. You don't know what you are getting. After you get it, let us know what you have to work with.

I am going to buy some new cleaners since I recently ran out, but I'd like to stick to using Track Power Wash and Clean n' Dull.

Also, you are right. I don't know what to expect until it gets here. I will post a new thread with pics and specs of it once I recieve the ball. I'm hoping it has decent enough specs.. I've had good luck with the past 2 blems I bought, so I hope that continues!

Energizer is not as good as the Powerhouse ball cleaner, Powerwash or the Clean N Dull.  These are way better

That's also what I heard, Dan. That's why i'm going to buy some more Clean N' Dull, and some Power Wash for the first time.
