ball replacement question

ok guys havent posted for awhile but have a question. since gettining my xception this seson my average is up from 170 to 184 with back to back 600s the last two weeks. the ball i use when the x is hooking too much is a storm barbwire but its getting alot of game i am now looking for a trac replacement what do you think would be close to it b/c i like the reaction of it .  thank you for youre help

Nebowler73-

I would try the Solution PowerPlus EX.  That ball should give you a reaction relatively close to your Barbed Wire, and the colors are even similar

Good luck with your upcoming purchase, and congrats on the excellent bowling you've done recently!

I would go with either the Solution PP or Solution PP Ex...if you get the Ex, you will end up with 2 pearl balls, and if those are your only 2, that may not be the best thing for you. If you need a ball with some versatility ans surface if needed, the Solution PP may be a better choice as you can go back and forth adjusting surfaces until you get it where you want, but the Ex is pearl and you are limited to the cover adjusting you can do with it.

The reason I chose the Solution PP is it is the same core as the Ex, and it gives him some versatility in what he wants to do. Granted, the cover comes very dull, 800 grit, but you can shine it like a marble if needed by applying some Clean n Sheen and then either Magic Shine or Delayed Reaction. If it is too striaght, just knock some polish off....with the Ex, you really have limited options when adjusting the surface due to it being a pearl...plus, if he replaces the Barbed with this ball, if he uses the Ex, he only has 2 pearls...not much versatility there, but its only my opinion...

If you are going from the Xception to the barbwire I have to say the ball to grab is the Desert Heat. The Desert Heat is a very good GO TO ball when the lanes start to dry out.......and it doesn't sacrifice HIT like many other balls designed for dry lanes.

thank you everyone for the information and advice i have found this to be a very informative forum since i discovered it . Clint back when i first started bowling my first new ball was the triton elite. the solutions are simmiliar from what i have read to that ball right . i think it might be a little stong i can kill the xception pretty decent.do you guys think the desert would mAybe be to much of a dropoff

The Desert Heat wouldn't be too much of a dropoff from your Xception.  I see it as being Track's best option for dry lanes right now (and a very good one at that!), with the Solution PP EX being second.  I love my Desert, and I probably throw it in situations where I really should be throwing something a little stronger, but it gives me a nice, gliding motion through the heads with a firm arc at the breakpoint.  The carry is AMAZING for a dry-lanes ball, which have a reputation for weak carry.


The Solution PP (Purple) is likely weaker than the Triton Elite.  I think the best comparison from Track's current line is the Slash.

Hey nebowler,

I feel the Solution Power Plus EX is the closest we have to the barbwire in reaction.  I currently carry the Xception and Solution EX in a tote for the med to drier lane conditions and the Desert is for the conditions drier then that.  Hope this helps....
