i think i am going to wish i waited
« on: September 16, 2007, 06:17:35 AM »
i wanted a kinetic ,but the pro shop i use didnt have any so i got an nvs instead. I hope the kinetic is stronger but i guess i will never know. The nvs is not, in oob,by any means a med to heavy oil ball. I am just hoping it will fit in on lighter shots above my machine which is where i wanted the kinetic to be.

Doesn't your shop get next day deliveries on their equipment?

toomanytenpins,

Hope you have good luck with your choice, but I have a friend who lives and breathes the Ebonite NV.  He loves it so much he bought a second NV, then got an NVS also.

He loves both NV balls. They are drilled to compliment each other, however, he doesn't really like the NVS.

He says that, to him, it is too condition specific.  If it is too oily, it either doesn't turn the corner, or turns too late to be effective, then when the shot changes and dries up a bit, the ball OVER reacts and starts to hook early.

For him, it is an over/under monster.  He is going to try some cover adjustments, but he's not really happy with it.

The Total NV is a solid medium+ ball and the NVS is stronger.  While it won't handle the juice, it's stronger in the midlane and almost as strong in the back as the TNV.  If you think the Machine is for lighter conditions, your definition is WAY different than mine.

when i say lighter i dont mean dry just not heavy or long for me. The ball is awesome when there are dry boards for it to hit,but if i keep it in the oil too long it skates, thats just for me maybe i could use a resurface on it,but as it is i know where i can use it.As a boomerang off the dry.

2k no polish and then come back and tell me this is not a medium-heavy oil ball, it picks 8-10 boards with the polish off of it.

Btw i had to go to 1k no polish to get my kinetic to be as strong as my NVS at 2k in oil. Drilled same pin positions but remember your NVS has a large mb.

Put it on Ebay now.  You can probably still get good value for it, and then get the Kinetic.  It's a MONSTER!!

Mr. Lebowski, this is Bill Salnicker with the Southern Cal Bowling League, and I just got a, an informal report, that a member of your team, uh, Walter Sobchak, drew a firearm during league play. If this is true of course, it contravenes a number of the league's by-laws, and article 27 of the league...

From what I have seen of the NVS, it is a beast on THS.
