Can everyone post all the facts that is going on with Track right now in this thread? Because i hate looking at all different threads and don't even know what's going on. Is Track going to be done? IS the Phoenix still comming out?!

I dont think anyone knows about the Phoenix for sure, but I do know FOR A FACT, that all tour reps, staff contracts, and sales reps were terminated!!

I agree 100% about Billy Yinger. He sold me my Tour Ultras at the Mini in 2004 and he was a class man. He showed interest in me and my questions as I wore Lind's for years. Best move I ever made.

Rev-O,

This is what I heard last night, although your sources might be more updated. What was said last night is that Columbia employee's would be kept for 60 days and then a decision would be made about keeping anyone. Then the plant would completely close down around August. Like I said, your info might be more up to date.

First off, when a take over happens, it does not happen over night.  It will take time for Ebonite to handle all the admin and basically running Columbia.  I do not believe everyone was let go.  That would mean they have a empty building in Texas and inventory stocked up and not going anywhere.

Ebonite wants Columbia to be profitable and is not going to halt everything.  It is a business and they want to make money.  The phoenix will come out as scheduled, since some folks already have them and I am sure they are being boxed and will be shipped on scheduled (February 12th, from what i hear).

Columbia lovers, do not panic.  The only problem I see is that Ebonite can not keep up manufacturing their own equipment, I can not see how they can move the manufacturing process from Columbia to their facilities without making big improvements.

Time will tell.

If their intent was a takeover to sell off the pieces or eliminate a competitor, it can happen really quickly and all people can be let go in a blink. Texas is not a right to work state so unless you have a written contract signed by Ebonite, or your contract is not outlined in the legalities of the merger, then you are screwed. I am sure it is already in the works and probably has been, for Ebonite to begin the shut down process. I am sure this purchase didn't occur overnight. Ebonite has been planning  behind the scenes. I would not guarantee the Phoenix will be released but I wouldn't bet against it either. It all depends on Ebonite's outlook on it!

I'd bet it still gets released. I don't think they want to take a another hit on a ball like they did with the Heat Wave, which was suppose to be a US release, ended up going to overseas when newguy took over.

As it is right now - plant is closing April 8th and as far as I know everyone is employed until that time.  It is my understanding that all orders placed before yesterday are still going to be processed out of San Antonio.  Order from today forward will be processed through Ebonite.  If my understanding is correct then the Phoenix will be released as scheduled because we already have distributor orders for this ball.
There are definitely more questions than answers right now.  This is the best I can tell you.  I also wanted to thank everyone who has supported me and my efforts over the past several months.  It was a pleasure working with everyone.  I am sure that our paths will cross again in this shrinking world!

Wow, this really sucks! All this change in less than six months. Everyone I met at Clint's back in October were great and really helpful. Clint, Del, Ken & you, Mike, it was a terrific experience and I had a lot of fun. Good Luck to all. As for me, I'll wait and see what Phil has to say. If it's not good, I'll probably go back to Storm.

Clint is correct - we are directing all calls to Ebonites Customer Service.  This includes staffers with questions about orders as well as PBA member about balls.  I have not had anyone get back to me as of yet so I do not know if anyone has tried, if they have - I dont know what they are being told.
Some people from Ebonite are going to be in San Antonio facility later this week - I would expect more answers in the coming days.
All that I would ask is for everyone to please be patient.  There are many, many questions that we cannot answer and I am pretty sure this is fairly new to Ebonite's team as well.  I am pretty sure they don't have the answers yet either.  So please be understanding when Ebonite or myself tell you that we don't know - we're being honest and upfront.  I want nothing best for these brands moving forward.  We have poured a ton of hard work into the brands these past several months and I want nothing but the best for them moving forward.

We should know tomorrow.  I can tell you that if the order has not yet shipped, we need to wait for Ebonite's approval to do so.  Since Ebonite will be in tomorrow I expect that we will have more answers (not as many as we all would like - I'm sure) but at least we should have some idea as to how this all will transition.  In the mean time, I'll do what I can to help.

By the way - thanks for everyone's kind words - I truly appreciate it.

Mike- Thanks for the update. I was planning a return to Track this year. IMHO much of this confusion could have been avoided if Ebonite would have waited a week or two before making the premature announcement on their website. Track and Columbia are mum and Ebonite is gloating. It just looks bad.

I would agree but the only problem with that is the good old rumor mill.  Heck, all it takes is a joke or a crazy thought and the next thing you know its the latest hot topic on ball reviews and everywhere else.  There is no way that they could have had everything in place for this change and then made the announcement.  It's just one of those things that you gotta start somewhere and work through the issues.  I wish we had more answers but right now there are just none.

Typically those problems are a sign of a "hostile" takeover.  My company just announced a merger/acquistion this week, but it was mutual and has been very smooth.

Although we weren't given a lot of information prior to the "official" announcement, enough people that "needed" to know the information were already informed and it has been smooth so far.

Usually when they say things like "effectively immediately" and "from this point forward," that typically points to something not quite agreeable.  I think we all can agree that there wouldn't have been anything wrong with allowing "business as usual" in San Antonio - unless you are worried about information getting stolen/destroyed,  or somebody trying to sabotage something.  At least that's the way it looks to me.......strictly my opinion.
