how much of a difference?
« on: January 25, 2006, 11:46:08 PM »
would i see between two delta 1's...one with the pin blow my ring, mb maybe 2 inches right of thumb, the other with the pin above my ring, mb inch or so right of thumb? currently have the one with pin below polished. looking to get another and go pin above...what surfaces do you think would work best for the two? lmk.

If the surfaces are the same, you will see the pin above the fingers probably be a bit cleaner through the heads due to the pin being higher and the mass bias being a slight bit weaker...but probably have more move at the back....the difference would probably be when the stronger one starts going 4 pin/9 pin on you, and you move inside and it hangs 10s....the 2nd, weaker ball would be able to play where you are going slightly high and get down the lane better and get to the pocket for you.

I would polish the one with the pin above the fingers to get more separation and to be able to cover a wider area of conditions.

I had two Delta's just like that.  One with pin above the ring and the other with pin below the ring.   With the same cover prep the pin above the ring is a little longer and had more backend.  I ended up plishing the pin above to get even more seperation.  I don't have ethier of them anymore but that is what I seen.

Matt,

They basically answered your question already.

One thing to remember with the Delta 1......adjust the cover slowly. Start with a light polish if you decide to polish it up.....and adjust it from there.
