Title: If I put Magic Shine

I am still learning what to do and not  to do with the new balls. In the old days you cleaned them with alcohol and put them in the luster king.

My question is, I put magic shine on my slash by hand with a towel, will it come off ok with clean and dull? I talked to my new driller and he said no magic shine on particle balls.

Shipper,

If you put Magic Shine on by hand and decided to take it off you would need to lightly scuff the ball in order to get the polish back off of it.


Magic Shine is fine to use on particles. When a bowler comes in....no matter what type of ball (reactive or particle) and they want more snap I give them a coat of Magic Shine.

Hey shipper,

D Pat and Ex are correct.  Magic Shine is fine to use on particle balls, it will do no harm.  Clean and Dull will also not remove the polish, you'll have to bring it back by using an abralon pad or sandpaper.  Even then, it should be done on a spinner to help promote the correct smoothness.

You may encounter problems in trying to polish our older larger particles (Pro Zones, Col Chaos) because of their micron size.  This is why you may have seen there were "particle polishes" like Col Tec Shine and Pro-Tracktion.  These polishes were actually thicker in density to help seal the larger pores.

Remember the old machines that had bristles hard enough to scrape off paint?..  Used to have one in my house (Cermak Bowl) when I was a kid, worked great on my DW 5 star.

Magic shine is a great polish for increased backend.  Magic shine works great on both particle and reactive.  Magic shine is best applied with a spinner for the first couple coats.  Maintenance can be done by hand.

I have an animal; which is particle, that has magic shine on it.  I get a ton of backend out of my animal with this polish.
