Title: In defense of Mike Scroggins...
Post by: Rantings on December 20, 2005, 02:29:05 AM: Lee Trevino has anything but a pretty golf swing and he made it on the PGA.
Scroggins may not be a handsome man or have the prettiest swing but he can bowl. He has been to the show 3 times, won once. That is better than most of the pretty bowlers on the PBA. Results is the name of the game. He is getting them and most of you are not....

the one that got me more was...."you're not gonna beat that" ....in the same match.....cocky azz comments I think......and his last two outings are payback for them....open your mouth and expect bad things

I wouldn't compare him to Lee Trevino because the Merry Mex is much more affable and loves to talk to the fans or anyone that would listen. A truly funny character on the golf scene.

Post by: bgh on December 22, 2005, 09:25:18 AM: TV/Media has a tendacy to make the ugly more ugly and pretty, prettier. Something about camera angles and those talking heads. Real life is much more dimensional and simply not even close that which is portrayed on the tube. It's only a show.

Scroggin's looks like a great bowler. He seems to have great bowling ABC/USBC records. Don't know the man. But I would think it would be quite amazing making the show that many times in the first half of the year. Especially, with no other left handers in last week's field. Damn impressed with him.

Scroggin's does have three marks against him. He's a very good looking man, has way too much hair, and he think's like a right hander. Well that's TV for ha!

I don't care if he has any talent at all, (which if he does, he sure hasn't shown any of it lately (other then the tourney he won a few weeks back)) he just don't make stupid comments like that on national TV.

Buddy the "league" comment I'm sure wasn't favored by a lot of league bowlers but the past few weeks have seemed to bite Mr. Scroggins in the rear...it just goes to show all of us that certain things said backfire and come back to haunt people.
