Inertia vs. Machine
« on: September 19, 2006, 11:04:25 PM »
Does anyone have both balls and if so, how do they compare? Which of the two is stronger, will handle more oil etc...

I just got my Inertia in yesterday and would like to drill it accordingly. However, I'm not sure if it would be best suited above or below my Machine. My arsenal right now is:

Phenom Unleashed II - 800 grit
Rule GP2
Rule Delta 1
Strike Machine - On order
Solution PP - Going to alter the cover on this to go where the FAZ is.
Machine
Slash - For sale
Freakazoid
Action Packed
Voodoo - For sale
Xception - For sale
Heat
Solution PP EX
Desert Heat

Any help is appreciated.

My opinion is this. They are very close to each other..however, I believe the Inertia is a tad earlier and the Machine is stronger on the back...this is of course if you have both factory surface. The Inertias I dulled down are as strong/stronger than my Robos that are dull as well!

I agree with clint on this one...when you knock the polish off of the inertia becomes an absolute animal on oil

it easily outhooks my machine...it even outhooks my mean machine (not in the backend but overall when there is more volume)

I'm not really looking to alter the cover. I am going to keep it box. I want to put a control drill on it so I can have something that is even on med/hvy to med conditions. I was thinking pin under bridge, mb left of thumb. What do you think?

Well...I have only drilled 4 of my 6 Inertias so far....I am waiting to drill the one that used to be my favorite drill with the mass bias in my track, like you wanted to know...I believe Rick drilled his this way and you can see the ball backoff at the back....It will get rid of any jump the ball has by placing the mass bias left of your thumb.....

Should fit the bill for what you are looking for.....

I disagree.....my Inertia vs either of my Machines OOB is nowhere near as strong. The Inertia is longer and more angular than the Machine. I have not altered the surface at all.......but I beleive if it were dull it would be much stronger.
The polish on the Inertia just keeps it from starting up too quickly.

Carl, how do you think the drill pattern will work on my Inertia? Will it give the ball the reaction I am looking for?
