Infatuation with the older TRACK stuff
« on: August 04, 2008, 09:13:39 AM »
With regard to the comment that was made in a post about someone loving his Machine and looking for a compliment

The infatuation with the older stuff...

The older Texas Track balls are/were GREAT balls. Different covers and cores. That was Track. No one can take that away. The Machine line is STILL a great line. The ROBO is still an awesome ball as is the POWER Machine. The new stuff IS Ebonite. Everyone is trying to pimp the new stuff on here and understandably so.

You can still win money with the original Track Equipment. It's still all about matching up. Your style, the condition, the layout, the surface, and the line you play as well as the adjustments you make.

I know people that still throw plastic and can score well

If you're on Staff for Ebonite's Track I can understand your positive feeling about the new products. Don't rip on those who love the original TRACK. My stuff still rolls pretty and smacks the pins silly. The Phoenix is a damn good ball too.

Yeah, I love those original Track balls. I have 25 NIB Track balls from Texas in storage listed in my profile. However, I can see my selling some of them down the road. I also have Premier 3 Ball rollers and Totes. The Blue and Orange ones are awesome looking and I can sell those later as well.

Here's another reason why I love the original Track. If you notice on there recent equipment that came out, there's not one ball for drier lanes. It's almost been 2 years since Ebonite picked up Track, and there's only balls made for medium-heavy ball condition. I wish the new Track would focus on a more heavy, medium, & light oil equipment, just like the new C300.

Hammer has a nice looking dry lane ball and since Ebonite owns Hammer,Track Columbia then it's all basicly the same company.go ahead and tell me it's not.

Well I guess I will be the one to tell you not! Lol

After being at the Ebonite plant, going through the manufacturing process and really seeing how the different companies are being handled. They really are four differnt companies. Even though they are being made in the same facility and on same lines. Ebonite has a very complex facility for producing all four brands.

Each brand has it's own signature for ball reactions "Track Skid/Flip as to Columbia rolls early". The brand manager then decides what each ball will do performance wise within the brand signature as well as color combination. Each company has there own cores and cover stock formualations and they don't cross between brands.

As far as a light oil ball i don't think we will see one for while if we do. Fig is focused on developing high performance balls with the latest in core/cover technology.

I've thrown Hammer and the rising and boy did they have the same reaction for me,but you miss the point.
my point is why be so brand loyal between two brands that are made from the same company?if you like Ebonite,Hammer,Columbia or Track then chances are you will like all offerings.so if you want a dry lane ball and you like Track then get the Hammer Rayzer.

And anyway, with the right layout/surface, you can make anything a dry lane ball.
