Info On Orange Silencer
« on: August 23, 2004, 02:57:51 AM »
I got an orange silencer off a friend of mine a while back and was wondering if there was any difference between it and the blue/black silencer.  Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry Dusie, never seen one.  Only orange Track ball that comes to mind is the NRG.  Other than that, the other orange balls I can think of are the Piranha and the old Angle LD?  Sorry, can't be of much help here...

The Orange Silencer was a limited production model. My understanding is that there were only a few hundred produced. I'll never forget a few years back when I checked my Orange into the Nationals at Reno, the guy took the ball aside, called over his buddies, and they studied it because they had never seen one. I still use my Orange extensively in league.

The primary difference between the Orange and the Blue/Black is that the Orange came with a high factory polish. Other than that it's hard to tell because my Orange is a pin-in (1.5") and my Blue/Black is pin-out (4"), and with different drill patterns react completely different.

However, I've always suspected that the Orange was tweaked to have a slightly higher RG. Anyway, I wish I'd picked up several when they were initially available. The Orange is nice ball.
