Legion hybrid vs kinetic emerald
« on: November 30, 2017, 10:07:21 PM »
Just acquired a used legion hybrid to go with my Kinetic. How much overlap is there between the two? The span is so long that I could barely throw it with my small hands. I had my kinetic sanded to 4k, but it is lane shined now and I have no intent to change the surface any time soon.

They aren't close in ball motion if I remember correctly the Legion Hybrid was smooth and more of a lazy arcing motion.  The Emerald has length as well but the shape is much more violent off the friction.  If you sand the Legion Hybrid to 500 or 500/1000 it turns into a earlier reading ball that still drives through the pins as long as you have enough head oil and it doesn't lose most of the energy before hitting the pins.

You shouldn't have any overlap between the two.

You are spot on. After throwing it for a bit, I have found the legion to be allergic to oil unlike the kinetic. I'm scared to throw it on anything with the slightest bit of carry down, and that is after taking it down to 2000 grit
