Track guys - Need opinions on Arsenal Artillary
« on: December 31, 2007, 02:15:58 PM »
Just as the subject says

Looking to possibly buy one from a user here, and just trying to see if it will fit in my arsenal that i'm making so far.

Right now, it's as follows:

Light Oil: Track Equation2 w/ high polish
Medium/Light Oil: Track Power Machine w/around 4000 grit. Yes, it is weak.
Medium Oil: AMF Orbit Extreme (great benchmark)
Medium/Heavy Oil: Track Inertia

I don't think the Inertia will hold up in heavy oil, I would look at the Rising.

For some reason, my Inertia is very strong, and for the heaviest oil my center puts out, it works. I had the best look straight down 5. Now that i'm using a sarge easter grip and my release has changed up, i'm anxious to see what it will do now. My ball reaction has gotten better/stronger since the grip change. Just looking to see how an Arsenal Artillary would do, though.

Dont overlook the Inertia for oil. The core is great, and the cover is stronger then most people understand. It has alot of movement on the backend, however when this ball is sanded down some it will handle its share of oil.

Brian what Orbit Exream do you have, the solid or the pearl.

I used to have an arsenal artillery and it was a skid/snap ball with tons of hook. Really it worked best on medium lanes but as long as there was some dry boards that thing would take off. But because its snappy its really useless because its hard to control when the backends are flying.

between the OE & Inertia - tried mine with about every surface out there & ended up at 4000 polish before I sold it to buy a Kinetic - will roll early & burn up if it does not have enough oil up front - used it as oil side of medium

Brian,

For me the AA was a perfect benchmark ball. It rolled smooth and was gave a consistant read of the pattern. I think you would be able to use it as your benchmark ball and get away with pushing your Orbit Extreme to a lighter side of medium condition ball. Also are you still with the 14lb equipment or did you make the jump to 15lbs.

Scoot, pics of my stuff are in my profile right now, but I'll update them with new pics of the balls after they were drilled Sarge Easter. I can't do that right now since I'm grounded (my iPhone comes in handy, though LOL). I will update my profile ball pics ASAP for everyone. Yes I do still throw. 14#a, too, btw. I appreciate all the help, everyone.

Brian,

I seen the pics but I guess I didn't remove the photos question. Anyway that is a fairly aggressive layout on the Orbit. You say your Pm is weak. What suraces have you tried on it. If you want to talk about some surface ideas you know how to get ahold of me. I love my Pm at 1000 abralon with some sauce on it. I find the 1000 gives me a more consistent read off the break. Yet the sauce helps it get down enough before the move is made.
