This is not the only time such things have happened to me.  I was once not able to access the site, but that was in October or something.  It seems that whenever Track's site is down, so is Columbia's.  It is now, and it was in October.

I've noticed when I look at the URL, some of the links on Track's site,
actually are on Columbia or go through Columbia's website.

More news!  Five days since my last reply, Track's site is up, but Columbia's is down.  That's a first, eh?

It's "taking too long to respond." for me.  Does tat mean that they're working on it with Ebonite or something?

I still want access to bowling ball information when I need it.  Plus there's the Track Legion, but I don't use that so much.

We are in the middle of designing an all new Track web site. It will be live July1. We have Hugh plans for the site. I have a question for the Legion members do you want to have a similar looking background or an all new look and feel? I am thinking of using the same layout since it is a good one and will be a large cost savings.

Fig,

Keep the old backround and layout. The one thing I think alot of guys would like to be able to have the ability to see is a 3D CGI reaction of "said" ball they are looking at. I know storm use to have it way back in the day of the super powers and El Nino. I think that would give a better idea as to what the ball will do rather then a little 2D line image. I can think of some ideas as to make it more aimed to the bowler looking at the ball at the time. Such as a style reaction and a idea of what the ball does OOB and then if the surface is sanded or polished. I think most of us like the layout as is. I feel that what we want are a little more inovative and interactive things on the site that anyone with any Internet Connection can use. Weather it be Dial-up, DSL, OR CABLE.

If the CGI thing is to hard, then I am sure you could get at least a Stroker, Tweener, and a crancker and have them use a "said" ball at OOB, SANDED, and POLISHED. Then place those videos on the info screen of the "said" ball.

Videos are a major plus.  I would do videos on a variety of conditions (light, med, heavy) and with different bowling styles (stroker, tweener, cranker) just so people can pick the right ball for the right condition based on how they throw the ball.  Might be time consuming, but videos are a great influence (aside from actually seeing someone throw a ball in person) on my purchasing decisions.

I think that one of the big things the old site could have really used were videos.  I think that the new site should have access to old balls and full specifications of them and the new ones.  Reaction charts couldn't hurt (if they're accurate).  The old Track Legion background will be best because we're all used to it and it was an easy, simple set-up.

Will it still be called trackbowling.com?

Yeah, me too.  Plus if I ever see an offer on a retired ball that I may be interested in, I double-check it and then do some more research.

Thank you all for the input. I will do my best to get all you want on the site. Plus I have some things I think you will all be thrilled about. We will be up and running on July 1st. I am trying to get a temp site up right away so at least we have something. Again thanks and tune in to see the new site.

Hey, Figs, hopefully you will do a lot of the same things as the Ebo and Hammer sites. I need a Track hat and license plate as soon as I can get them. I will support all of the Ebonite brands, I threw the Angular One tonite on some tough lane conditions, and got me a nice low 600 series. Good Luck with your new assignment!!

I say market the Track GEAR all the same way. The LOGOs are awesome just the way they are such as Hammer. Market the cleaners and polishes the same. KEEP THE LINE INTACT. Market them all as TRACK cleaners and polishes to keep your Track gear in top condition. You guys should know it will sell. Keep the Clean and Tacky and market the Clean and Dull as a Powerhouse product if need be. It' all money in Ebonite's pocket, is it not?
