Just an interesting thought I had today...
« on: September 14, 2005, 11:56:25 AM »
Ever notice that all the hype about rico 1 and I have only heard it done on Brunswick bowling balls.  I have tried it on a absolute inferno and love the roll.  I was curious if anyone has ever tried it on a Track ball asymmetrical or symmetrical core?  I was thinking about trying it on a Track ball but haven't decided which one...

Well, if I have heard correctly, the Rico 1 drill is a control drill. With that said, put the drill on a control ball. Slash or FAZ, maybe even the new Solution PP. I think that you would have the ultimate control ball if you combine the drill with a control ball. Just a thought!!

I should have been more clear, as I had not tried the drill on a Track ball yet.

I may thump it....had a Classic Rock years ago I almost thumped with the Rico drill, never had an asymmetrical ball with it on though.

Thank you Joe!....Yes it has.  For those of you old enough may remember when the first urethane balls were introduced, the pins had to be smack dab on top of cg (at least within an inch) and if they weren't, they were considered to be bad balls.  Then we drilled them label to keep a true and even roll which placed the pin directly in the center of our grip.

Back in the 80's, I had friend Cariello (PBA) grab my Ultra Angle off the truck to ensure the pin and cg were together.

Could be the case, but have you ever heard of it on any current balls on these forums besides Brunswick?  I haven't that's why I brought it up...

Hey Ike,

I think McCracken has tried it on his Triple Threat, said he liked it.  Not sure if anyone has done it on a strong asym though...interesting thought though cause the layout could end up like 5-6x6-7mb?  Should be great length with a very smooth roll but like D Pat stated, higher tracks might clip.
