Title: Just picked up a....
Post by: Strapper_Squared on January 15, 2007, 08:06:54 AM
Coral Triton from eBay!

Several years back I had one in 16lbs, but it was just too heavy so I sold it off...  That ball was probably one of the better dry-lane balls I had ever thrown.. Well, found a 15lber couple days ago on eBay..so decided that I had better buy it.  I can't wait to get it in and ready to go.  The way our league conditions have been the last couple of weeks, this ball may go into immediate action!

Well, it was a struggle dealing with the seller, but the ball finially arrived last night (10 days to ship it and 1 day in transit)...  I didn't get to measure it, but the ball has a very long pin to cg distance (guessing 4.5" to 5").  Its drilled over the label (no weight hole) with the pin in the 2:00 direction.  If I were to adjust the thumb a little to get the correct span/pitches, it probably be a 2.5"-3" pin to PAP distance.  I originally had thought about plugging the ball up and redrilling it with a 5" pin to PAP and the cg out with a weight hole...but now am up in the air and may just keep the current layout.  I wanted this ball for use on our medium-light oil house shot.. something that will clear the heads and get down the lane w/out over reacting.  Core numbers are medium to high average RG and I remember the getting pretty decent length?  Any suggestions?

2.5-3 to PAP could end up making the ball pull too soon. I would go with the longer pin to PAP distance.
