I have been thinking alot about this subject lately. I have talked to many bowlers (mostly league and regional players), a few ball drillers (locally), and listened/watched many different posts online about equipment....Track in general.

I have come to this conclusion:

Track makes equipment right now that any bowler, any style will be able to use on various lane conditions.

True, most PBA bowlers will not need a ball as strong as a GP2. I believe this is the reason that you have seen equipment like the Arsenal line come out. Those, along with the Slash and Xception will cover most of what they will see.

So to the point now: Track's current line is set and is aimed at league bowlers. The guy that comes into the shop and wants a hook monster, he has it. A bowler comes in and wants a ball that is versatile with some movement because that is the only ball he is going to have in his bag....Track has it. It is definately true that Track wants a pro to do well with their equipment. If it is seen on television people may run out and buy it. But are the professional bowlers the ones that purchase the equipment? Mostly....no. The league bowlers are who makes the ball companies' sales. We buy the stuff.

Track has equipment that targets the league bowler and bowlers that will hit some tournaments throughout the year. For most of us anything that we need we will find in their line. <<<<<This is very appropriate because as stated above, we are the ones that buy the balls. SO simply put, and to the point of this thread, Track is giving us stuff that we can use on league patterns be it a heavily oiled lane, or a light pattern.

This is not meant as a "sales pitch" kind of post. I am stating an observation that I have made.

Track also has products that have shelf appeal, which for some rec bowlers, is all that is important. Products that work for Professionals, league bowlers, and shelf appeal for your once in a while bowler....what else could you ask for (besides a clear Track plastic spare ball)?

Track is awesome except for the fact that they got no spare ball!! Grrr... o well. It also helps having a driller who can actually DRILL Track equipment. But I love the stuff they give you, heavy oil? got it. Med oil with smooth roll? got it. Med oil with skid snap? got it. Shorter/Lighter pattern? Got it. If you want to add a smooth roller or more of a skid/snap to the arsenal they got it for you. Track is just awesome. Love it.

While you are waiting on Track to make that plastic ball for you, check out Visionary's Stuff. The Slate Blue or Green Gargoyle are both great balls. The Green may be a little to much for TRUE dry, but the Slate Blue should work and it is fairly cheap. The bonus is that my Visionary Charcoal Ex hits about as hard as my Rule.
