Arsenal evaluation
« on: October 17, 2006, 02:24:44 AM »
I'm thinking about taking this line up with me to Vegas and Reno for Nats so tell me what you think.

Animal Or Delta 1
Equation (OBO)
Inertia (wetsanded too 1000 Abralon)
Arsenal Agressive (wetsanded down to 600)
Solution Ex
Desert Heat
Spare ball

If I can get my hands on a Power Machine and I like the way it looks I may insert that as well. Thank guys

On edit: Ok folks I've dropped the Machine and Mean Machine ( both seem to be lost in the mail ) and made the above changes. Tell me what you think now please.

Thanks,
Tim

To me there's a decent gap between the Machine and the Desert Heat- you may want to see if you can get a Solution Power Plus Ex on closeout somewhere. Also, you may have to dull down the Mean Machine if you want that to be yor true heavy oiler- otherwise the Robo Rule or an Animal/ GP2 may fit that bill. Otherwise seems solid.

I agree.  I would say either the SPP EX or a Heat blast at least.  If your looking to take only 6 balls then I would drop either the machine or the interia.

Tim, I also see some gaps there. Not sure if your arsenal is shown in order of strength, but here's how I see it:

Mean Machine
Inertia
Machine
Equation
Desert Heat
Spare ball.

Not sure how you have the Inertia, Machine and Equation drilled, but my Inertia and Machine are REAL close. Maybe you could drop one of the two and get a solid reactive in there like an Arsenal Reactive or Solution PP. Maybe a Delta 1 if you can find it. I also think that you could use a better heavy oiler if you see true heavy oil. As mentioned, a Robo Rule is a good option. Lastly, I feel that you could put something between the Equation and Desert Heat. Something like a Heat Remake or Solution PP EX.

In regards to the Power Machine, I kinda feel like this will overlap quite a bit with your Equation. So, it may be best if you opt out of getting one of these in your arsenal and fill the voids that are currently there.

Hope this helps.

HEY TIM!

Don't overlook the Heat Blast buddy! I feel this would narrow the gap between the Machine and Desert Heat. The Heat Blast is the current ball in the line up as a benchmark. Plus I've experienced the heads drying up rather quickly lately bowling my leagues and the Heat Blast has pulled me out of some tough situations! I would even agree with CFI about the Solution Power Plus EX. To me this was one of the most overlooked balls from Track. The Solution Series provided that 1-2 combo when you didn't have alot of money to spare from the wallet! Hope this helps buddy! God Bless You and have a great week!

Ok, just looked at your profile and if that holds true with the balls you list, here is what I'd go with.

Animal <----- maybe dull this one up a bit for the soup
Mean Machine
Arsenal Reactive or Rule Delta 1 <--- I'd pick the reaction I like best
Machine
Equation
Dry Heat <--- It will be more than the Desert and less than the Equation
Desert Heat
Spare ball

I added one extra ball. If you can carry 7, I like this lineup. If you can only carry 6, I'd eliminate the Arsenal Reactive/Rule Delta 1 ball.

On edit: I got excited by the title of the post because I thought it was the name of a new Track ball. LOL.

Ya know, I didn't even think about dulling up my Animal. I have it drilled through the pin (ring finger) MB about 60 degrees. My Delta is drilled with my pin in the palm MB almost at 90. Maybe I will see if I can trade my machine for a Heat Blast..seeing as it is still NIB.

On edit: You guys rock! Keep the ideas flowin!

I just got an e-mail from them last week. I'll have to take a look at it.

Where do you guys think an Arsenal Angular would fit in the mix?

for me...my arsenal angular was actually a touch EARLIER than my machine drilled the same way

The angular was more even through out the entire lane and the machine was more of a skid snap type reaction...

again this is for me, others may have had different results

but as far as it fitting in with the stuff you have...if drilled weaker it may fit under your machine as far as oil handling goes

i also recommend a solution PP EX...it should fit well above your desert and below your machine

the heat blast for me is quite a bit stronger than the pp ex...it actually (due to the drilling 3-3/4 x 3----it revs up real quick and lays off a little in the back GREAT REACTION for me) is earlier and can handle more oil than my machine

feel free ask any ??'s

Hope this all helps!

Tim,

If you are looking for a Solution PP EX, I have seen them listed on ebay many times.  They usually go pretty cheap, too.
