Tonight was the third week of leagues, and I had a new Rival, Kinetic and Venus as of the second week. I used the Rival exclusively last week, and had good success with it, throwing a 221 game for my first game on the THS. (My average last yr ended at 179, for a point of reference. 221 is a great game for me!) Well, this week I wanted to give the Kinetic a look. I was hesitant since I did so well with the Rival the week before, and flip flopped a bit through the first game, using the Rival for a couple of frames, then the Kinetic for a frame, and so forth. I ended with a piddly 168. I was also fishing a lot this game, trying to find a good line, and I came up with something by the 10th, though a bit too late.
In the second game, I decided to give the Kinetic an exclusive look. Left foot on 21, I threw the Kinetic down 12, crossed 10 at the arrows and out to 8 or so. WOW!! When this ball turns the corner, it is NOT KIDDING AROUND!! Even me, a speed dominant bowler without a ton of hand was making the ball scream back to the pocket. I've heard before of balls that explode at the breakpoint, I just never had one that did it for me. The Kinetic is all that and a bag of chips. I had plenty of miss room to the outside, and only left a single open in the game. I left a pocket 5-7 in the fifth, when I didn't quite catch enough of the ball. I just barely missed picking it up, but left an open. Well, that didn't really matter, as I went off the sheet from there for a nice 255 game. That's a PHENOMENAL game for me, and higher than any game I threw last year in leagues.
In the third game, I still had really good success, but carry was a little suspect as the heads dried out, I still finished with a 192.
Needless to say, next week I only plan to bring two balls out of the bag, the Kinetic and my plastic, though it's questionable if I'll even need the spare!!

Mr. Lebowski, this is Bill Salnicker with the Southern Cal Bowling League, and I just got a, an informal report, that a member of your team, uh, Walter Sobchak, drew a firearm during league play. If this is true of course, it contravenes a number of the league's by-laws, and article 27 of the league...
