kinetic vs. kinetic pearl

how close in reaction would they be if drilled identical?  would the KP be closer to the tantrum?  what say the Track Legion?

I am recent track convert thanks to the Kinetic energy and the Kinetic. If Skid flip is what you looking for these are it...seriously! I can't speak on the Kinetic pearl....but the Kinetic is definitely a medium-medium heavy ball. Clears the fronts, stores alot of energy and comes back like a mofo.

From what I've seen on the 505C....Not as much backend as the Kinetic, but the kinetic can get a little over/under and harder to read...but that's why I have a Kinetic Energy that is at 1000 abralon (favorite ball now)...Starts earlier and easier to read.

I must say though.... I originally hated the Kinetic Energy OOB...It just skided forever and never came back for me...then I sanded it to 1000 abralon. End of Story.

I have the Kinetic, and have thrown a Kinetic Pearl that belongs to a friend of mine.  They have very different drillings, but I've also seen other KPs in action.  The Kinetic is the most skid/flip ball that I've ever owned.  Mine is drilled pin over ring, 5" x 4-1/2", no weight hole, and the surface is Valentino's Resurrection (800 grit) and Valentino's Snake Oil.  My Kinetic is the go-to ball when I need to play inside and get the ball to finish.  The Kinetic Pearl, when I threw it, was the smoothest pearl I've ever thrown.  It reminded me of a particle pearl type reaction.  My pro shop operator said the same thing, that the KP is the smoothest pearl he's thrown.  Hope this helps some.

Very close.  The KP should go a bit longer with a bit of a sharper backend.  For me, the Kinetic was a pile of crap.  O/U no matter what and the cover just got trashed no matter what house I bowled in.  I just could not get along with it at all-though it was great for some.

The Kinetic Pearl for me really didn't act like a pearl.  Considering the last pearl they made iirc was the Power Machine, the Kinetic Pearl is a disappointment. Out of the 3, I have to say the only one they got right was the Kinetic Energy.  I have 2 of them.  One is a 75* 4.5 70* that I can use on conditions where it's benefitial for me play in the middle.  The other is a 65* 4.5 30* that allows me to play the outside with more than enough pop to come back.

I have hd both with very different drillings, The inetic with pin nunder bridge MB swing out near VAL was smooth but strong off the break point, and could play anywhere but deep inside, but for my style it loved me throwing it hard and strait right up the right side. Shot soem really good sets using just that ball.

My Kinetic pearl that I still have is pin over ring 5 x 4 layout and it has a very sharp backend, Still pound for pound the most angular ball I have thrown. Mine can actually play quite well on a good amount of oil, but mediums it is killer, unless the backends are really clean which then it basically gets sideways and can be hard to control at times.

It is hard to see other people saying it is so smooth, different styles is all I can assume.

Both are great pieces though.
