I know when laying out asymetrical equipment you measure from
the Pin to pap and MB to pap.
My question is that does it matter how long or short the pin is from cg.
For example, Using a 1.5 inch pin ball vs a 3 inch pin ball.
Would i see a diffence in reaction is i layed both ball that are asymetrical out the same?

I don't beleive it really matters. Based upon what I've learned.....iv'e had 3.5 pin balls that didn't matter...and 2 inch pins as well.....no difference

The only time it may come into play is static weights....if you have a really short pin and want the pin somewhat high...you may have too much finger weight depending on the top...and vice versa...if you have a long pin and want the pin somewhere particluar, once again, thumb weight may come into play. Same for side weight if you get a funky out of line cg.
However, as for drilling a certain reaction in general...I pay little attention on asymmetricals other than the items I have mentioned above. You may see a reaction difference based upon different ending statics...but if you have 2 balls drilled with the pin and mass bias in the same spot with different statics and the cg in a different spot, there will be a minimal difference...very little.

Are you really saying that, given everything else the same, there's no visable ball reaction difference between a 1" and a 4" pin-CG distance?

To me, with the same exact drilling, the only time I see a difference on a strong asymmetrical ball with different pin to cg lengths is one may carry a 10 here and there the other does not. If I have 2 balls with the pin and mass bias in the same spots, as I said before, statics will be different depending on the starting top and where the cg ends up...however, the pin and mass bias and surface are the 3 most important factors on a strong asymmetrical ball, and I really see not enough difference to warrant drilling like this. Now, if one was polished, I see no problem as the surface is different....
