Experiment: Polish on Track Heat Remake = Neato!
« on: June 12, 2006, 05:11:48 PM »
Hey Guys & Gals,

I decided to give my Track Heat a ride on my spinner and apply some Ebonite Factory Polish to it. Put a couple of dabs on the cloth and applied it to the ball. Put some moderate pressure with my hand, but didn't totally lean on it with too much weight on the ball. Ball had a nice shine to it. Looked brand new again!

Tested it out tonight on a Christmas Tree type house shot with hang on the extreme outside. Oil viscosity was more on the Medium side.

I can now see more length on this ball! Ball had a nice controlled arc on the end. Compared to my U-Turn Particle Pearl, I had to move at least 5 boards right with the Heat and play more direct with it and get the ball in the dirt earlier to catch friction.

I was able to play about 14-6 with the U-Turn Particle Pearl.

I was able to play about 9-5 with the Heat playing more direct.

With the addition of polish to the Track Heat, I was able to gain better sepeartion between these two balls...Sweet =)

Hope this info was helpful!

Take care y'all,
Ramstel Light

So Ram,
Would you say the "viscosity" of the oil was closer to say..50W or 30W?

Ok, just messin' with you, as I assume you meant "volume" and not "viscosity". No?

Thanks for the report Ram Ram Bigelow!

I was debating on putting polish on my Heat remake as well. I think I am going to do that now.

Sounds very good Ramstel, you've come a long way buddy from when we first met.  Separating your arsenal helps keep us from having to carry around 20 balls but still maximizes our potential in scoring with only 4-5 balls.  Good job buddy...glad you've taken the tip.

John, thanks man and you're right. After joining ballreviews, I've just soaked all kinds of information like a sponge. Like Rick says, you should always give your stuff a chance and alter the cover. It totally gives you a different look(s).

Spanky, you got me on that one haha. Yeah, "Volume," sounds more appropriate wouldn't it? Hehe. I made it sound as if I was bowling on Motor Oil hehe.

Ryan, I would def. try some sort of polish, whether it be Track Magic Shine, Ebonite Factory Polish, Brunswick, etc. You can always try and take it back to OOB condition if you don't like it!

Rick, thanks for the well wishes bud. All of those tips are starting to slowly pay off. Just imagine the days when all I had were 3 balls in my bag that all did the same thing!

Regards,
Dodge Ram
