Suggestions? Delta 1 question?
« on: December 29, 2005, 03:20:32 PM »
Just got a Rule Delta 1 on a trade. it's drilled how i would've drilled it, pin under ring, cg kicked right, mb strong. works out to be about 4 1/2" X 3 1/2". My Xception 5.0 is drilled pin above bridge cg kicked out right, mb strong. works out as about 5x4. i thought the delta 1 would get much much further down the lane than it does, even with the pin under drilling. it starts probably half way down the lane, and although it doesn't roll out, doesn't really provide the drive that i'd like to see. i polished it with black magic, made it a little bit better, but still rolls VERY early. any way of making this thing go longer...more skid-snappy than what it is without completely re drilling it? lmk what  you think. thanks in advance.

The only thing I can really think of besides polishing is targeting a weight hole in the thumb quadrant, by doing so, you remove thumb weight, which in essence adds finger weight which helps the ball get down the lane better....

Hey Matt,

Did you just throw polish over the existing cover?  I'd suggest fining the cover to 1000-1200 and then apply Magic Shine to it, it should help some.  Only thing that makes me a little leery of the weight hole in the thumb quadrant is that you may also remove some positive side weight which "is" helping you get down the lane.  If you want to increase finger weight, try and find a small bit and drill into the thumb some more and this will not decrease your current amount pos side.  Let us know how it goes...

I would definately work with the surface more first. Odds are the Black Magic has taken the surface up quite a bit. Try sanding it 1500 or even 2000. Black Magic was probably not the answer. Try Track's Magic Shine. That will increase the reaction off of the dry backends.
