Need Advice on Trac
« on: March 31, 2011, 03:08:39 AM »
I have a Hammer Black widow and a Trac 505 C. I am looking for a Trac ball to go above the 505 C.I am a stroker with 15 mph speed and my pap is 5 1/2 over and 3/4 up. Let me know your thoughts .

505A, 505T, 607, any of the 7 series would work.

718A 715C would fit. The 505T will be earlier than the black widow. So I would go with the 718A or 715C.

Not sure this really answers your question, but it is my two cents on a Track ball I really like, the Uprising.

I too am pretty much a stroker.  The Uprising absolutely kills the THS where I am (I had 722 last night with it).  I like the Uprising because I think it is a little less squirty than some of the similar pearl stuff I have thrown, including the Black Widow Pearl.  With its OOB finish, it still gets down the lane plenty, and absolutely snaps at the backend.  Carry is great.

I haven't thrown a 505C, so I am not quite sure where the Uprising would fit compared to that, but if are looking for a more predictable skid/snap ball, I would grab an Uprising.  I don't really use the Uprising on any heavy oil shots, so maybe someone out there can comment on whether a surface change to the Uprising will make it work on heavier oil.

The 715C I believe can fit in between. It is really hard to get a ball between those two. For me they are pretty close in reaction. With the BW pearl being a tad stronger. The 715C or 718A still will be the two balls I can suggest.

Yeah, I'm not sure because that's a pretty small window to fit in. Honestly, I think you'd be doing your bag a disservice with 3 balls so on top of each other. I would make the decision to go above the Black Widow Pearl or below the 505C. Personally, I would get a 505T, because the ball has a fantastic price and will fit above both of the listed balls. If you want something more hi-performance you could always go with a 916AT which will easily fit above both balls at box or polished. Again, if it was me and I had that arsenal I would go with a 505T, but if you like the look of your 505C, the 715C would be a step up from the Black Widow Pearl.

That is a very tight window to fit a ball into. I would suggest going with something that is current and easier to find that will be above the two balls you have. I would suggest the 718A. This ball is very versital at multiple surfaces and layouts.
