Machine - layout for strong but verstile ball reaction
« on: April 02, 2007, 09:37:22 AM »
Hi!

I got a Machine... very good deal... I like the ball as it sits here undrilled... but I want to have it drilled. How to drill it?

I wrote a topic in the Track forum:
http://www.trackbowling.com/forum/topics.cfm?forum=8&topic=2336

All that don't want to read but just give a short advice:
I want the ball to be strong but verastile and cover the meds -oil condition with w/o carrydown. I simple words:
Be an "out of bag the whole evening ball".
My style:
15mph +/- 2 mph just how needed
revs: also as needed but med-high (PDW-style with now fingers but clean and smooth yet strong release with revs!)
facing conditions of:
dry to oily THS with 36-40ft oil
My Tsunami covers the drier part but starts to leave me in the lurch once the lane's star to break down: over-under

So I hope to get with the Machine as particle pearl a good all-around ball but drilling is very important as I had to learn the hard way. with other track balls (had an Angular and the ball was drilled crappy for me back then)

Whatever...

Suggestions recommendations for a good layout?

Hey Grayson,

Watched your vid, very nice improvement.  For a good overall consistent reaction, I'd suggest a stack leverage for you (3 3/8x3 3/8mb) with the pin 3.25-3.5 above mid line.  I have one of my Machines like this and it has become one of my most used THS balls.  Hope this helps some...
