Title: Machine vs Polished Delta 1
Post by: Buckwild on June 28, 2006, 08:08:14 AM
I was wondering if anybody made a comparison between these two. If so, what is your assessment?

I'm also interested in this...more so for how a polished Delta would react.  I'm buying a Delta off Ramtart and I'm planning on polishing mine.

Just changed the surface of my Delta to 3000 grit no polish will let you know how it reacts in comparison to my Machine after I use it tomorrow in my sport shot league.

Looking forward to it. I just wanted to see if there are any similarities between an OOB Machine and a polished Delta.

Comparing a Delta and a Machine that have similiar layouts. Delta had OOB grit but with Magic Shine on the surface.

The Machine reads the lane quite a bit sooner than the Delta. The Polish dramatically weakened the Delta. The backend reaction was very comparable, I give the edge to the Machine. The Machine easily handled a deep inside move where the Delta would lope before its move.

I hope this helps.

I got that reaction out of my Delta that EX spoke of. Took the polish off. Don't have a Machine, so I'm waiting on the MM for next month ...9

Hey Buck,

Depending upon the amount of polish you put on the Delta 1, you can get varying replies from this.  I did polish mine a couple of different times varying the amount and they did react slightly different.  Generic and truthful answer is the heavier the coat of polish (also depends on which polish), it can go longer or if you just use a lighter amount, it will still read earlier and stronger compared to the Machine.

At first I used Magic shine, then Clean N' Sheen. With the Magic Shine, it went a little too long, now with the C N S, it definitely had a stronger look. I played 17 at the arrows to 8 at the breakpoint. The pins even sounded different when the Delta hit them, more of a louder crack than before.
