A little layout help?
« on: November 11, 2006, 08:22:36 AM »
Okay, I just got this in, and I am somewhat puzzled.  I am wanting some ideas on how to lay this ball out.  Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Here's a pic: http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=3965338

Thanks,
Tyler

That might be a good ball for a lefty, but what's the top weight?

What type of reaction are you looking for?

Top weight is 2 1/4 ounces, and unfortunately I am a righty.  Reaction-wise, I am open to any siggestions really.

Well most of the reaction, thankfully, comes from the coverstock and how it is finished.

A crazy idea I'm visualizing is pin below middle finger, CG in ring finger, and the MB would be swung out in the 45-50 degree range I think?

Drilling the ring finger deeper than normal as needed to remove excess finger and positive side weight.

Using your PAP this layout might roughly be a 4.75" pin to PAP and 5" MB to PAP.  According ot the Delta 1's drill sheet that is supposed to be a sharp breakpoint layout.

That doesn't sound like a bad idea really.  Thank you for your suggestion, as I am not very familiar with Track equipment.

Tyler,

The Delta is a very good ball with its OOB finish. I had a couple of these and I liked an earlier roll drilling much better than something that pushes it down the lane. The "largest flip block in the history of bowling" produces length on its own.

Drill it strong. I would place the pin at 3 3/4 from PAP about 2 inches above your midline, and have the MB placed at 4-4 1/4 from PAP. This layout will take advanted of what the Delta has to offer.

Goodluck,
Carl

Carl, is the CG location going to be problematic with the layout you've suggested?

Not with the 2.25 top weight, should be fine.

Tyler, I like Mr 300's (aka Carl) layout suggestion as well.
