Well after the past 3 years throwing Storm/Roto equipment, I have made the jump to throwing EBI products. I just think the Utah products weren't as consistent for me as I would have liked and my average suffered because of it. Don't get me wrong as I threw a few 300's with their stuff, but I couldn't seem to put consistent series together.

I am really liking from what I see from my EBI stuff so far and getting the last two pieces drilled tonight. My lineup will be the Track Alias, Hammer Gauntlet Fury, Ebonite Matrix, and the Track Tundra. I've been throwing the Fury and Matrix for a few weeks now and really like their motion and my scores have been much higher, including a 759 in a big local tournament and a 752 in the team event for our city tournament.  I feel like my lineup should handle most conditions, but any feedback is greatly appreciated. Can't argue the change. Storm/RG and EBI are both making great stuff right now. Seems like that line-up should be able to cover a majority of conditions. I would actually be challenged to put together a 3-4 ball arsenal together from EBI right now because they have so many options.

We all match up different with different equipment.  Which is why I ball whore from virtually every ball family. 

Track Alias and the Gauntlet Fury alone have raised my average just by drilling these pieces (mostly Gauntlet Fury) The GF gives me more room out and some room in, sometimes 5 boards total. The Track Alias have given me a look on the sport patterns lately that no one else has. Shot 972 (highest ever) on a flatter 37' pattern the other night with Alias asym for 2 games, alias sym for 1 game and 268 game 4 with Gauntlet Fury.
The EBI equipment seems to be getting better lately for me.

Over my 25 years of bowling, I have tried EBI several times.  Sometimes this was out of curiosity, sometimes price (they used to give awesome discounts to college bowlers), and other times due to hype.  I tried Apex's, V2s - original and another), TPC line balls, matrix, NV series, etc. and never found one that I liked (and I have really wanted to like them!).  They just rolled aweful for me.  I haven't even considered buying one in the past 8 to 10 years.  Maybe something has changed in that time... I'm sure at some point I'll bite again...  But there just hasn't been anything that has caught my eye.

My only EBI regret is getting a Scandal Pearl instead of a Maverick Pearl.  Oh well.  Not a bad ball per say and if would paid $120 for it instead of $170 would probably even liked it.  It is what did made me start to branch out from Hammer though.  If I would have picked up a gas mask ball from them instead who knows.  Still the Blue and Burgundy Hammer remakes are good additions to an arsenal even if they are situational.

Yeah but if nothing else Hammer is there for the urethane.  Seems often their mid to upper mid stuff is better than their top shelf stuff but true for a lot of brands I guess.

I’d tend to agree. The Hamner Rebel is one of my favorite balls. I have an undrilled one on the shelf in waiting.
 
They do Urehane really well, but despite the resurgence, it’s mostly nitche. Outside the really high rev guys, there is limited opportunity for use.

My new thing now is only buying balls on Black Friday or when on clearance.  Its not worth paying over $130 for any non gem ball imo.  Learned my lesson (having a decent sized arsenal already gives me the luxury I suppose) after buying the Scandal Pearl at release.
