Magic Shine Question
« on: June 25, 2005, 05:54:43 AM »
Hi Trackers !

I recently bought a bottle of Track Magic Shine, and I found it very liquid and transparent amber color ( shampoo-ish ) with a strong smell, please look at the pics :

My question is, is this normal or it's an old bottle ?

Sorry if it sounds dumb, but it's the first time I buy a bowling ball polish.

I guess it's a lot better to apply the MS with a spinner, by hand is a hard task.

Thanks in advance

Ghost,

I have never seen Magic Shine have that appearance. It is usually more of a light purple color.

I would try leaving it sit upside down (OFCOURSE YOU WILL NEED TO CLOSE THE LID) for a day or so. Then shake it up vigorously. If that doesn't get it where it should be, then I would take it back.

Thanks for the responses Chi, Cody & Carl.

Carl, I didn't put it upside down for a day, but I shook it vigorously (with the lid close of course LOL) but looks the same, I will try your method thanks again for the input.

The bottle of Magic Shine I have looks exactly like that.  Got it from BuddiesProShop.com about a year ago.  Looked like that from day one, whether I shook it up or not.  Still seemed to do the job though.

Mine looks like that to!

It works just fine, however, I really don't suggest shaking it vigorously and repeatedly before each use (or at all).  It doesn't say shake well on the bottle and now I know why.  Some hard sticky plaster thing precipitated out, and my Magic Shine is now really milky and very runny.

It worked great though before I shook it up.

Hey Ghost,

I had some that looked like that also.  Not to worry, I know that in one of our other cleaners that the chemicals can separate in time but still performs the same.

No, it was Clean and Dull and this is a direct quote from Brian:

I saw this first hand recently. A friend of mine wanted a small bottle of clean n dull, so I ordered him one. It was still as think as other bottles I have seen, but there was more of a yellowish tint as opposed to green. It still does the same job on a bowling ball.

Raise it to $10 and make it 8oz.  I'd do it.

Upon leaving my Magic Shine untouched, it has started returning to its original thick and clear form.  There is still some precipitate, but I'm not too concerned as long as it the liquid isn't very viscous and milky looking.  Maybe I should try it again to see if anything has been altered reactionwise.

Fine, but you provide the polish and gas money...

I can't take pictures inside the bottle to show the precipitate, but it's there.
Here's a picture of my Magic Shine...looks just like yours, but works well!
