Title: mean machine question
Post by: retired on January 18, 2014, 10:40:04 AM
Would the old Track Mean Machine still be a good oily lane ball?

Potentially. If it's used just make sure to de-oil it and resurface it

I had one, a long time ago.  if I remember correctly, it was quite a nice ball.

I have two,and still use them on oily lanes. One is  drilled to go long and the other with axis leverage. I clean them after each use with a good bowling-ball cleaner.

I still use mine A LOT. I play in the middle of the soup with it. I have mine at 500/1500. Both of my 300s have been thrown with this ball. Both of them on a flat, heavier oiled shot when no one else was scoring. if you use it as an oiler,  make sure you keep it clean and fresh.

I loved my mean machine but it sure did need oil.   I haven't seen oil in years though.

Thanks for the input; good to know I don't have to replace my main "oiler".
