Well, I have thought long and hard on this since Saturday on how to write this up. TyroneShoelaces saw exactly how dry it was Friday at my center...I came back Saturday night and had to sub in a summer 4 person team...talk about fried lanes! If you remember my Mean Machine initial impressions from a few weeks ago, that was the last time my center oiled the lanes. The owner bwols in the summer league...told the workers they did not need to oil every week and would leave a note for when they could oil again..and obviously you can't sneak an oil in when he is bowling....
On Friday, as Ty saw, the right side ofall 3 different pairs we went to was absolutely FRIED....tried my new span/pitches on a GP2 that had a 5 inch pin..cg in palm with mass bias, pin about 4 inches above fingers on the midline...unique reaction...very unique...however, I had NOTHING...
Switched to my Mean Machine and moved DEEP, played around 5 arrow, and found some oil. Figured it out as the lefties always play up the boards and most righties will not move that far, so there was some juice to get the ball through the heads. I could not miss any to the right (so dry the ball turned NOW) and if I tugged a little, it was through the nose due to the angle I was playing...
Took that info to Saturday night...got there as practice was over..so no shots to see how bad this pair was...it was BAD..went open-open...made some adjustments, and BAM....222-278-241 741 from the 5th arrow with the Mean Machine. Everyone else was either trying to scorch it up around 3rd arrow..nobody moved deep, and it was playable with the RIGHT BALL. The Mean had just enough surface to help it grab in what oil there was, but yet, was not SO aggressive it turned over immediately, like the GP2.
From what I have seen, this is going to be a great ball to go to once the lanes start to dry out and something like the GP2 or Robo is just too early, but yet you still need something that can grab a little less and have some move at the back!
The fact that I kicked so many 10s from that angle to me was impessive..with a high track, its tough to get enough angle onthe ball when playing inside...the MEan had me covered and I even sent a tomahawk messenger....I normally do not have that kind of pin action....
Just an unreal reaction that I found from this ball when everyone was struggling to get the ball even to the pocket....made me a believer for sure!
