having an issue with track flare. My Mean Machine only gets like 1/8 to an 1/4 inch of track flare between the flares. I know this ball is to get through the heads easier than the Robo or the Machine. I have lowered the side weight to 1/2 positive and altered the surface a little. Got better reaction but still, I thought this was suppose to have a bigger backend. Any suggestions would be good.
-------------> *pin
-----------> x x

------------> x + mass bias
Had an issue with the CG being approx. 3" offline. I know it all matters with pin and mass bias but the damn weight hole is big. It's on my PAP.
Thanks in advance.
Sorry, I forgot you have to put things in front of the diagram to make it stay they way it was entered originally. Sorry for the confusion. My PAP is 5 1/4 right 3/8 up

The problem is that your weighthole is on your PAP. Placing a weighthole on PAP great (in my opinion) reduces the breakpoint. It smoothens a ball out.

Carl,
in his case, where you say the weight hole on the PAP greatly reduces the breakpoint, where and how would you suggest the weight hole be placed in order to keep a strong breakpoint on the MM?

What he could have done is put the balance hole below his pap. I also have read that Balance holes placed 6" from grip center produces the most angular break point.
I don't know a lot about this stuff. I only know from personal experience. I always get my balance holes put on my mid line. I was placing it about 6" from grip center on my mid line but with how much these new balls flare I have to start placing the balance hole 5" from grip center. This way I wont flare over the hole.
Well with placing the Balance hole on my mid line I get plenty of back end.

No, AFAIHL (as far as I have learned), placing the wt hole at the PAP is normal and makes the ball flare slightly earlier than no wt hole> Whether this flare makes the ball earlier or snappier depends on how that AND when that flare occurrs. Usually later on pearls or polished balls, making them snappier; Usually earlier on solids/particles or dulls balls, making them smoother.
Placing the wt hole at 6 3/4" from grip center makes the ball flare more and earlier than one on the PAP. ALso placing the wt hole 2.5 - 3" BELOW the PAP, has the same effect at on at 6 3/4" but it also raises the bowtie.
