Medium oil ball

Which ball would you recommend for medium oil? I throw 15-17 m.p.h. medium-high revs.  My animal is too strong out of box, but not strong enough polished.

Track Arsenal Aggressive
Track Arsenal Angular
Track Arsenal Reactive
Track Rule
Track Xception
Track Xception 5.0

You can cut that list down to:

Arsenal Angular
Xception 5.0
Xception

And don't forget about the Track HEAT!!!!!! (My favorite Medium Oil ball.)

Hey TheMan,

Brooklyn has narrowed it down pretty well.  Based on the description of your physical game, you sound a little more rev dominant so I'd lean towards the Xception or 5.0.  Both can get through the heads very clean and have stronger backend reactions.  Just remember to place the mass bias in its proper position to create the reaction shape (earlier read, midlane read or late break) that you want.  Tell us what reaction you want and we'll help you out with the layout bud.

Right now I have a Xxxcel (drilled strong, for heavy oil) and a polished Animal (drilled pin 3 3/8" from PAP) with MB right of thumb.  Xxxcel is too strong and the Animal polished isn't strong enough.

Wait, if a polished Animal isn't enough, wouldn't he need something for more than medium oil?

I also polished my Animal just to play with it then and it was about 9-10 boards less comparatively out of box.  When applying polish typically to stronger particle coverstocks (larger particle or heavier loads), it really tends to smoothen them out quite a bit.  Please remember guys, sealing that snowtire with snow does not turn it into an all season tire. It still offers different friction properties which in turn creates a different reaction.

I still like the 5.0 to maybe an Angular drilled with a little more control.

I have to agree with the Xception 5.0. The backend is going to be what the Animal polished didn't give you.
