Heading into August....
« on: July 29, 2005, 03:34:36 PM »
Getting closer and closer to league season starting up so I have some questions for you:

1- What is your plan as far as your Track "arsenal" goes for this season?

2- How many Track balls are you going to carry on a given night?

3- What Track equipment do you currently have, and what are you going to add (if anything) before the season?

1. Unsure.  Everything seems solid and I'm very happy with all my balls.

2. League is generally the same shot every time, so 3 balls for different looks.

3. Animal, Phenom, 2 Rules, Xception (undrilled), Freak-A-Zoid, and Heat (undrilled).  I'll definitely be looking into the Solution Power Plus EX, Desert Heat, Arsenal Reactive, and Rule Delta 1.  I will likely be getting the Desert Heat and another ball depending on my needs and monetary restraints.

1. This is everything I have and what my intentions are for it for the upcoming season:
Primary Equipment: (What I carry with me now)
* Rule -- This is definitely a keeper, I have had great sets with this ball, plus I score better with heavy hooking reactive equipment.
* X-Ception -- 300/800, it was sanctioned, nuff said! It's staying in my arsenal!
* Triton Elite -- An oldy but a goody, its staying in my arsenal, tons of snap on the back end!
* Arsenal Aggressive -- Just got it tonight (7/29/05) we drilled it to be tamed, but its still a hook monster on the conditions I faced tonight, more to follow, but more than likely it's going into the primary than the secondary.
* Desert Heat -- The best dry lane ball Track has offered! So just incase I'm facing "2nd shift" conditions, I'm sure the Desert is going to bail me out on some situations to follow!

Secondary Equipment: (Stays in the truck and/or house till I need it)
* Rule GP2 -- I am not really sure, I am sure this is a keeper because just incase I go to a tournament and they are really flooded and none of my other stuff works this is where I will have this one available...
* Animal -- It has been good to me, but this Tuesday I have a guy interested in a big time hook ball, and so in order to promote Track, I am selling it to him so that he will see what Track has to offer...
* Phenom Unleashed -- This will be what I like to call a back-up ball just incase anything happens to what I'm using now...I have always liked the PU for its versatility.
* X-Ception 5.0 -- I sold my first one to a buddy of mine, he was getting great hit with it...I am purchasing another one to have drilled different, until I can get the new one with a different layout, it will remain on as my secondary equipment.
* Slash -- Overall a great ball, but I'm thinking about using this as an experiment ball, play with the cover and see if I can get some satisfaction out of it...
* Crash -- Planning on using this one as a tournament ball just incase the Desert doesn't react enough, I can count on the Crash as a step up. I have learned from this ball that it either hits or it don't at all, depending on how the conditions are on the lanes...
* Heat -- Also, more than likely to be used as a tournament ball. I haven't found a specific condition that I can shine on with this one yet other than the Chameleon pattern that I'm bowling on in the pba summer league I'm bowling in.

2. I'm going to have 5 Track Balls and a spare ball, I'll be carrying two Track 3-Ball bags each night to my leagues that I bowl in.

3. Track Balls I'm looking for to being released:

Rule Delta 1 -- This could possibly replaced the original Rule in my bag depending on how much I like the reaction and how versatile I can make it work for me...
Arsenal Reactive -- I could possibly see myself having this one and the aggressive particle in my bag for league night also. Just really excited about this one coming out...
Solution Series -- Depending on how the feedback of these two are will be whether or not I consider them or not. I'm wanting to see how the Track Staffers on here take to these two and how one of my friends who is on staff here in town takes to it also!

Also for the first part of the question, "What Track equipment do you currently have?" Please see answer # 1!

1) As of right now I have an Animal, Rule, Slash and Havoc. I'm hoping to get a GP2 to go above the Animal at some point during the fall season (this has to wait as my extra cash goes into family matters).

2) On any given night at least 2 Track balls will be with me, probably the Animal and the Havoc. I usually bring 5 balls to league with me, and I have to make sure that one is a control ball (which for now is my VP2) and I like the coverage the Absolute Inferno gives me.... so I think the Animal for the floods and the Havoc for most mediums will be fine for now on a league night. For tournaments, I bring all 4 Track balls as well as 3-5 others.

3)I've named what I already have, and my plan is probably to get a particle pearl for medium/heavy conditions and then start looking at the dry end of things....

1. Track arsenal
3 balls with pin at 5-7/8th( pin under bridge for me)
arcing balls.
my go anywhere ball set
  • Desert Heat
  • Heat
  • Arsenal agreesive

2 balls that are more flippy. pin above bridge

  • arsenal reactive
  • arsenal angular

maybe a soluiton EX

and maybe toss in a few balls with more special patterns in mind
reverse block = exception 135 deg drilling.
GP2 pin 1" above midline 4 x 4.5

2. Track in the bag
after a few weeks of league I will only carry one or 2 balls at most. I have been very pleased with my Heat and have found a shot on all but real dry or heavy oil. so My heat and a blue dot and may even unch up a ball just for the pattern I bowl on.

2. Track additions
I have cleaned out my track equpment and starting over. I have the heat and the arsenal Aggrssive on the way. I will add the rest one at a time. see what they do and adjust from there.

1- What is your plan as far as your Track "arsenal" goes for this season?

GP2, Blue Heat, Animal Untamed, Xception 5.0, Mutant Mania, Slash, FAZ, Arsenal Angular, Xception, Heat, Desert Heat. I also have a NIB Blue and Desert. I am probably going to drill the Blue as a control piece to read lanes. The Desert is going to be stashed away so I have it when the other one gets old.

2- How many Track balls are you going to carry on a given night?

4 to start the season, then 2 once they figure out the oil pattern in league.

3- What Track equipment do you currently have, and what are you going to add (if anything) before the season?

All of my equipment is listed above in question 1. As for adding, hmmmm, I dont think I need anything right now. Plus I have been buying too much equipment as of late. I am going to hold off a while to purchase new stuff.

I have a GP2 and Havoc with the Havoc being the first ball out of my bag. (The Havoc is polished with Finesse-It II) I also have a Storm Triple X of which I want to replace with another Track ball and need a ball for light oil to dry, but not fried lanes.

Ex,

I am going to have two main 4 ball arsenals.... one for leagues and one for tournaments...Usually I carry just 4....most of these will be pickups between now and season start...I tinker a lot, and have fianlly come to terms with the fact I like balls that give a flip reaction....

My home house is fried wood, which is the reason for both...

House arsenal:

1. Xception
1a. Columbia Power Drive - sleeper ball of the year
3. Solution PP/EX - essentially a crunchtime
4. Plastic

Tourneys:

1. Delta1 - drilled for flip
2. Arsenal Reactive - drilled arc
3. 5.0 Drilled flip
3a. Slash - arc
4. Xception/Columbia Professional
5. Plastic

My thoughts have changed as much as a woman's recently

Due to the new shop, I figured I needed more of a variety of equipment to show for lessons, etc.

I will still have my 6 GP2s.

Plus

5.0
Xception
Delta 1
Desert

Every night I will carry them, not to mention the 30+ others I have for tournamanets, etc.

1) Track Arsenal for the season...

Think it is going to look alot like this...

Xception 5.0
Arsenal Reactive
Havoc
Xception
Voodoo

2) League

Probably this:

Reactive
Havoc
Xception

3) Have all listed above except the Arsenal Reactive.  Think that will be my one addition..The only ball I have that is not Track is my Hammer Razor Blade for the soup.  Have a ton of success with that one so will stick with it.
