Shane,

The coverstock on the Animal is particle. At the time of its release (and I don't think this has changed yet), the Mega Fang particle coverstock had the largest particles every produced for a bowling ball by BASF. SO....it is definately particle......and a strong particle at that.

You will love the animal.  Now if you want to use it for heavy oil it's best to dull the cover with scotchbrite.  The OOB cover is best used on med/heavy patterns.  I have a good amount of revs and I still find that a dulled one is best on floods.  This is the hardest hitting bowling ball I have ever seen or had!
