mini review: Animal #2 (DULL)
« on: March 04, 2004, 07:22:41 AM »
I did not get a chance to throw as many games as I wanted to with this ball. There just was not enough oil down. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED!!!!!!

Drilled LEVERAGE, MB 1 inch past my VAL.

LINE: There was no line I could play with this ball. It rolled up much too strong---too early. I sanded the factory finish off and had it 800 grit.

REACTION: EARLY EARLY EARLY!!!! and STRONG roll. Even getting the ball out into the dry too soon, I never had it burn up. It kept coming and coming.

IMPACT: AWESOME! Just as good as the factory finish Animal I drilled up. The HIT the Animal has is just unexplainable. Pins fly everywhere, no telling where it sends the pins. I will say this, the pin boy had to check our lanes a couple of times due to slow racks after I had bowled. When I talked to him later he said that 2 pins each time were knocked out of the machine and onto the back walkway. One pin is rare, 2 never happens.

READABILITY: You cannot tell squat with this ball. It is meant to hook, drilled to hook and has the surface to hook, unless there is an absolute flood, it is going to hook.

OVERALL: This ball does exactly what I wanted it to do. It moves and never looks back. I wanted to see what this ball would do dull, and I have. I now have a ball that I will rarely use because it hooks so much. That is awesome, because I have equipment for all of the other conditions I will face.

You will see a review of this ball some time this year. I doubt I will really get a chance to get enough games to give an accurate review, but once I do, I will.

Nice job of putting those pin chasers to work EX!

I've been using my unleashed for the past 2 times i've been out, and MAN-O-MAN...HIT HIT HIT...now im gonna try to get 3 pins out behind the machine!
On about 3 of my shots at a tournament last saturday, i've literally carried the pins on the next lane!!!!! 1st shot, I made about 6 pins fall, 2nd shot, the 9&10 pin fell over, and on the 3rd shot, I spared the next lanes 10 pin! hehe....and this was all on the lane to the left of me...
And yesterday I hit a nice solid strike, and a pin came about 10-15 feet back at me!

gotta love these morpheous cores!

Hey Ex,

I couldn't wait to wear out the gloss on the Animal(pin 4x 3.5 mb past val, pin under ring) as others have advised me to so I took it down to 1000 today before league tonite.  Normally I have a reverse with OB outside 10 with my Unleashed, so I usually play around 15-16 to 10-11 to start and continue to move in until I'm about 22 to 12-13(3rd game).

Started with my Animal at 18-19 out to 10, went thru the nose.  Okay moved, went 20 to 10, went 4-7-10, okay moved left, standing about 40 and just threw it right.  What OB?  This ball, (just like you said) just kept coming back!  I couldn't keep it off the head pin until I literally swung it all the way to about 6-7 down the lane(what used to be OB).  It stayed out there a bit but then decided it was time to go left AND it did AND still hit like a truck like you said!  I actually started to understand what a cranker kind of feels like having no tug line.  They just have to make sure the ball goes right because it keeps coming back left.  Man, this ball with just a little surface is something else.  I've got Animal number 2 on it's way and Del is working with me on a layout for even more hook for complete floods or just to open up the long oil and short backend shots.  Just thought I'd compare a little to yours.....great ball....
