Rule vs. Xception

What would be the difference between a polished Rule and an Xception? I'm looking for a new ball and want something stronger than my Columbia Messenger.

Which Messenger do you have?

Both the Rule and the Xception should easily be stronger than the any of the Messengers, they will just do it in different ways.

The Rule is going to earlier and have more of an oil handling ability....it will arc more than snap. The Xception is going to get down the lane much easier than the Rule and move on the backend so hard that it causes whiplash. Throwing some polish on the Rule gets it closer to the Xception, but it still does not have as strong of a move on the backend. If you want a polished Rule....just grab an Xception...that is what it is for.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. Excaliber, I throw a messanger titanium b/s/p and it is about 3 years old. I throw medium speed with medium revs. I don't swing the ball, just a basic down and in.

I have one polished with Magic Shine Rule and 2 XCeptions. 1 XCeption is drilled almost exactly like the polished Rule, with only the mass bias ending spot and static weights being different. They both clear the heads with EASE, but I do notice more snap from the XCeption, more than likely due to the GOO LS cover vs the GOO cover on the Rule. Both balls are very playable and you can't go wrong with either.
