Question for my fellow track guru's
« on: January 29, 2005, 12:53:23 PM »
I'm bowling the PBA qualifier on Feb 9th in Akron, OH. It's on Pattern E (cheetah). Suggestions on balls to use on this pattern. I have FAZ, X, Freak Out, with another X, Crash, GP2, and Rule on the way. Would an X drilled with the pin at 3 o'clock be to weak, or should I drill the Crash this way? All suggestions welcome, and I thank you all.

I'm not the man to answer this question, but I wanted to at least say good luck to you at the tournament!  Knock 'em dead!

For a new "comped" gp2..I'll tell you....(lol)....I use whatever ball scores for conditions....don't worry about company brand...went to track seminar and had DEL & company give tips and layouts for two new balls...slash/gp2...both excellent....that being said...back to original question...

go to brunswickinsiders site..has layouts posted of staffers....look at what worked for their best scoring members on pattern E conditions...go from there....also storm site discusses robert smith's layouts on certain patterns...am sure his style similiar to yours.

all that being said..WHERE's customer service "track's" site showing staffer's layouts for patterns...WHOOPS...they don't have one??? Am gonna pm you another message...thanks and good luck

I bowled that tournament last year.  The wood in there is beat up pretty bad, even though it is pattern E, the scores won't be really high.  I made the match play, used an Eraser Pearl Particle, the most.  Switched to the original Eraser the last couple games when the heads were gone.  You have to stay as close to the gutter as possible all the time.

Joe Ciccone won throwing a Grey Angle.  You do the math!!  LOL!!

Unless you throw it 18+ mph, I don't see you using the Rule or the GP2.  Although you might be able to make the GP2 hook and roll out.  Bob Learn did that pretty well last year.

Just an idea......
