You guys were right about the Spare Plus with surface. Picked it up Wednesday and got chance to roll it last night on a pair of lanes used by an earlier league. Brought my ball spinner too. I had it drilled pin just over ring finger with CG/MB stacked straight below it. Probably about 5 1/2 in. from my PAP. All my stuff is 15 lbs but I decided to go with the heaviest 14lb he had at 14lb 4 oz. Figured I would have more control with speed/release and less worry about fatigue at the end of the match.
At OOB finish I played straight up and split the 1st/2nd arrow. If I slowed it down a bit and put plenty of hand in it I could make it to the pocked but had trouble carrying the 5 or 10. Left a few 5/7's and almost a sour apple, lol
Took it down to 500 on the spinner and it picked up at the arrows, way to soon. Brought it back up to 2000 and it was perfect. Kept splitting the 1/2 arrow, increased speed and more hand which was easy to do with 14lbs. After I got things sorted out I never gave up the pocket. It was all strikes and solid 9 counts. I never finished below 190 and high game was 245.
Only bad thing is the Spare Plus in no longer a true spare ball at 2000. It will flare and hook at the end making 10's risky, even throwing it flat and straight. But it was a great option for the 3/6/10 and has enough drive at the end to cover the 3/6/9/10 which is a great confidence booster when things are tight and tough at the end when every pin counts.
